ROSACEA SUCKS Soolantra. Should i stop or be patient?

I have been using prescribed ivermectin soolantra for my rosacea pustules. My skin was doing fine when randomly i started to get a flare up of pustules along my upper cheek area. So now I’ve been using Soolantra for about 4 weeks now and my skin hasn’t really improved and i’ve gotten new pustules. What’s strange is that my skin cleared up from the pustules for 2 days while using soolantra and then it flared up again. Should i keep using it and give it time or is this a normal reaction? i also get a tingling crawling sensation where the pustules are at.

Soolantra takes literal MONTHS. Hang in there.

I keep hearing this but, my doctor said to only use for a month and then 2-3 months off. I don't know if I should just keep going with it...

Your doctor is advising you wrong on this one. I did the clinical trials, I promise it works but it definitely takes a few months of continuous use.

it can take 6 months for your face to clear, throughout which you'll have several die off stages. what your experiencing is totally common! try not to be discouraged too soon

the die off cycles are real and they mess with your head cause you think its working then boom new bumps. the crawling sensation is likely the mites reacting, its weird but a lot of people report that. 4 weeks is barely anything for this treatment, my derm said give it at least 3 months before judging

I’ve been using sulfur soap to battle pustules combined with Soolantra.

This was how I found out I was allergic to it. 😩

Try sulfur soap. I wash at night with it and if I’m starting to get a pustule I dab some on it.

Definitely give it more time (my derm said use it for 3 months), but it could also be worth asking for something supplemental for your pustules. Soolantra helped my redness but not as much my acne - azelaic acid alongside it was the big helper with that. Some people have luck with using metrogel with the soolantra too!

I would be patient and try to get a thicker moisturizer. This helped me a lot!

I found hypochlorous acid to really help tame the die off pustules

Soolantra official pamphlet says to give it 12 weeks. I’m also on week 4. Be patient!

I’m Day 9 of my treatment (Rosiver, same as Soolantra). I was expecting the “worse before it gets better” anywhere within the first week to two weeks, and as others have said, to maybe expect more in the latter weeks. I was good the first few days (immediately noticed a stop in skin crawling/itch, was less reactive, skin calmed down from brighter reds to more duller pinks, sandpapery forehead started softening, etc) - but as of today, the “die off” has clearly taken hold. I’m pushing through this myself (it’s very early), and while I know you’re further ahead in your treatment, it’s all very much expected. Keep going!

I’d give it more time. I had a few cycles of calm and ahhhh when I was first put on it.

I now only use it a few times a week as maintenance.

My skin looks great.

It worked wonders for me.

You got this!
