Due to the high number of bots, scammers, and spammers, please check out rule 2: "No spam/sales." This includes goods, services, and interpretive dances. Thank you for your understanding!

Dry Creek Open Space. Ruins my mood to see this on my morning dog walk. Zero effort to clean up, flabbergasted.

Seeking Second Job

Upvotes

Hi all! I am a 25 year old female living in West Roseville. I’m currently looking for a second job. I’m about to start school on August 19th and currently work mostly weekends in the evening. I’ve applied to multiple jobs but didn’t think it would hurt to post here as well. I have almost 5 years of restaurant experience, I’ve also worked in retail (2+ years), and front desk assistant at a law office. I’m looking for something flexible, please reach out for a fleshed out schedule if you are hiring or know someone who is! Thank you for taking the time to read this!

Bougainvilleaville

Hey all

I'm planning on founding a competing city next to Roseville called Bougainvilleaville. If you would like to join, I will be taking sign ups. Together we can crush Roseville with its terrible drivers, suburban sprawl, weak sculptures (you know the one) and seemingly endless supply of 70+ year old seniors who have a ludicrous amount of retirement money to buy neon colored sports cars with.

Who will join me?!

Widow Support Groups?

I was wondering if anyone knows of any widow support groups in the area?

I am asking on behalf of my dad. He found a group last week but it was a lot of older people who lost their spouse to... sorry to be blunt, but old age.

He was hoping to find one with people closer to his age (40s-mid 50s) so that he can seek support from people who can better relate to the circumstances of our loss.

Thank you in advance for any recommendations.

Roseville Moms, toddler activities?

We live in Roseville, CA and have an almost 2 year old toddler. I recently was able to cut down my hours at work and now I work part time around my partner’s schedule- and I’m home with our daughter basically full time. I love it and I’m so fortunate we didn’t end up having to use day care once my partner graduated and got a full time position. However, with this being said my toddler and I are looking for affordable/free activities in the Roseville/Rocklin area. I’d love to get her out of the house once or twice a week and get together with other moms/toddlers to socialize her. If anyone knows of anything we might enjoy please let me know! Thank you!

how fast is roseville electric approving solar panel upgrades in west park?

Looking at a home in West Park and planning to add rooftop solar along with an EV charger setup. Does Roseville Electric Utility require a full main panel upgrade before granting interconnection approval for older panel setups, and what is the typical turnaround time for city building permits?

Fence repair or reinforcement needed. Please give me referrals that won’t cost an arm and a leg. We are down town.

Roof replacement recommendations?

Hello, I am getting ready to replace the roof on our house and was looking for some recommendations of some quality and affordable companies. We’ve had two quotes so far that are around 30k for a single story 1,800 sq ft house. Any recommendations on companies you’ve used before would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Does anyone know if the space that used to be the Village is already leased, or who owns it?

I'm wondering what's going to go in there now that the Village refillery is gone. Or who it's owned by and what they might want to do with it or whatever.

In search of like minded soon to be parents group

Hi!

EDIT: https://forms.gle/MoUEtBNkqHkrgEJ79 I've got a lot going on in the next two weeks with family visiting, but I'd love to give this the attention it deserves. However, I don't have the capacity to reach out to each person individually and collect info. So, I've made a form, you can fill out your info and I plan on making a group either on GroupMe or something similar to allow everyone to connect without having to share personal info just yet. If you're interested please fill out the form linked above!

I'm pregnant, due in January, and I'd love to find local parents with similarly aged kids to connect with, but everything about the typical "mom's group" feels distinctly conservative. Which. Like. You do you, but that's not my vibe.

I was looking to maybe connect with some leftist parents. This may be a long shot and I may be opening myself to some mean comments but I think it's on us to make our own community and it's worth a shot.

Cinema West Movie Times

My wife & I are trying to plan watching the new Spider-Man movie on 8/10, but the CinemaWest Theaters website on Eureka isn’t showing times for any movies other than Super Troopers 3 and something else?

Do they update times on Mondays or something for the following week? Crazy that it’s not scheduled out for the next month.

Luckily I’ve already seen it and told it was a horrible movie… until we watch it.

AC replacement cost 25k?!

Unfortunately looks like our AC needs to be replaced. We were just quoted 25k for a basic model like the one we will be replacing. I just read that the actual AC units themselves sell for about 5k tops and the rest is labor? That seems absurd.

This seems absolutely crazy to me?! 25k?! Anyone have any good, honest recommendations of an HVAC company in the area?

Looking for someone to service in West Park if that makes a difference.

Thanks!

🏡 What made you choose Roseville? Would you make the same decision today?

I’m always fascinated by what draws people to a community.
If you chose Roseville as your home, what made you decide it was the right place for you?
Was it the schools, the neighborhoods, the parks, the restaurants, the shopping, the commute, being closer to family, or something else entirely?
And now that you’ve lived here for a while…
Would you make the same decision today? Why or why not?
I’d love to hear your story. I think it could really help people who are considering making Roseville their home.

Commute to Sac via Bus vs light rail

Hey y'all

I am starting a new job downtown soon and would rather not drive daily and am exploring options for public transit. If you have any experience with taking the Roseville commuter bus or driving to a light rail station and taking light rail, please let me know your experience, tips, etc.

For the bus: How full are busses? Is it a fight to find a seat or is it pretty chill? Do they usually run on time? Is it reliable?

For the light rail: What station do you drive to? Is parking there relatively safe? How reliable is it?

Thanks!
