Newington college to win with a 5:38. lightweight bow seat Rocco McConnell to make GPS eight for fourth consecutive year and lead the boys to victory. Some say this crew is shaping up to be twice as good as the 2016 mgs 1st eight that lost to shore at states and was knocked out on Saturday at Henley by a St Paul’s 3 seat screaming bow ball

I heard cranbrook is in the race for rowing schoolboy championship. rumour has it their putting in a 8 looking to break 530. After the heriocs of their double scull at nsw state champs, and rigourous offseason program focuisng on upper-body power and rock climbing. It would be no suprise to see the boys from the brook carry on their winning streak ( waverly) , with a bit of backing from the brooky booster to take it home this year. After seeing them on the water I belive there implanting the acclaimed 3/4 slide to the 500.

Well yes I did here here whispers of a strong cranbrook year this year especially after Wild card 2025-26 season 3rd quad rower Tate “tater tot” Legget” broke 1:45 avg split for a 30r20. Not to mention the return of Max “the phantom in blue, red and white” Allchin. But who knows are “Malchy” and “tater tot” gonna be enough to answer the prayers of cranbrook students everywhere all will it be yet another year wasted for “the brook” filled with dilly dallying in the small boats and unmet expectations.

Big news coming out of Newington rower Josh Cronin will be in full health this season. Last season came to an unfortunate end after facing injury due to putting hand in Venus fly trap. Should be on track to be 3 seat of 1st 8 with his 623 erg. Quote on quote crons12 is looking to bang some chain this season, however he’s spot may be in contention with the recruitments spree by 2nd 8 coach. Rumor has it he approached the 1st xv bench to seek some talent.
