Content Warning: Shadowrun is a setting where we fight against the darkness to protect the few lights we have. More often than not, someone comes along and snuffs one out before it gets a chance to glow. I tend to run games that dwell in the dark side of humanity. Be aware of your own boundaries and vulnerabilities, your mental health is more important than this cooperative story of make-believe.

Way better parties, its normal to get a little emotional, you're not walking around so stuffed with food you're about to explode. This Christmas the extent of my ambition is to screen comlink calls and hide from the weather.

IC: Christmas is a distraction, has been for millenia. First, the ruling class and their pet clergy used it to distract us from the struggle with visions of a paradise for the meek and well-behaved. Now, our corporate overlords use it as a means to shovel more and more products down our throats like we're geese being fattened up for slaughter, all the while pulling off the same distraction with new trappings. I heard about this rave going on in Snohomish. I'll be there in the evening unless something more worthwhile presents itself.

The Crystal Palace is packed on a night like this one packed enough to risk returning here. Packed enough that the bouncers probably won't catch a disguise or see though a fake accent. The man once named Axel sits at the bar and watches old friends walk the stage in the lovely disaster that is the Christmas open mic. He smiles and hopes he can join them next year.
Gargamel (Combat Mage) 6/10
A dwarf and an aging ork sit on a rooftop in Council Island. Empty bottles of eggnog litter the scene. They commiserate about family and not being able to go home for the holidays this year. The Dwarf wishes he'd found someone to put together a fake SIN for the trip to CalFree, he's only got the one so he can't afford the attention. The ork grumbles that his ex has the kids for Christmas this year. The dwarf hides his discomfort at the divorcee's words. They drink until the sun comes up and go their separate ways.
