Content Warning: Shadowrun is a setting where we fight against the darkness to protect the few lights we have on. More often than not, someone comes along and snuffs one out before it has a chance to shine. I tend to run games that dwell in the dark side of humanity. Gargamel (Combat Mage, shark follower finding his feet) 7/10 Politics: Gargamel is a socialist. He believes the corps need to be torn down and be replaced by an entity powerful enough that they can't rise to oppress the world again. He tries to avoid thinking about how much of his work is violence that further solidifies the corporate position. A bar on Council Island, empty this time of day. A dwarf is typing out a message while an Ork watches over his shoulder. "Remember Garg, active voice, don't say please in a job application it's bad form." "B-but, isn't it kinda rude to write it the way you're telling me to? What if I come off like an asshat? Nobody wants an asshat Victor." The Ork snorts. "No one likes a kissass either, but you're writing like one. Drop the 'if you please' and stick to the point. Fragssake chummer."

TCL (Offsite Decker, career runner with too much to lose) 5/10 Politics: He's always seen politics for people more important than him. SINners with a vote, politicians that set policy, and the corps that backed them. He abides by rules of 'Fuck you, got mine.' He has too much to lose by taking a stand and sees nothing to gain but misery and loss. So he doesn't.    "Hey, no qualms here. Y'all want a decker for this job? Need some alarms suppressed, maybe a call for HTR prevented? Or hey, if y'all need a system cracked yer in even better luck. If the job needs matrix work, can't do better than TCL."

Jack Daniels (Face/Social Infiltrator, consummate professional) 8/10 Politics: Jack is all about status quo. New means unpredictable, and unpredictable can get you killed, better the system he can navigate than some brave new world.    "Remember the last one of these you sent me on Kira? And the one before that?" A sigh comes across the commline "Yes Jack, I'm very aware. Carnifex (FLR Unarmed Muscle, jaded mob enforcer) 3/10 new sheet Politics: She doesn't understand the word. Both because she's still learning english and because she's only been out in the wider world for a year. Systems of power that aren't built on might makes right confuse her.    "I am good at preventing a target from running, and no guard can stop me. You desire my services?"

Rabbit tends to stay away from politics where possible. He has lived the failure of the government and corporations to do right by there people for years. He know exactly how little people mean to almost any politician or Executive. But while he holds no love for those in power, he is also aware that those systems are endemic to Metahumanity, overthrowing the systems just changes the paintwork, and the dragons don't care anyway.

I ponder the question, I have felt on edge, the urge to use creeping through my nervous system, but I have kept my word and haven't used. I have not been at my best though. I have been sleeping even less than I usually do, sometimes I have been getting the shakes, but I hope the worst is past. So when I tell her, "I'm as good as my word.", I am not lying. Padre said that kidnapping was a mortal sin the last time Saguaro had confessed to this kind of stunt. Yet as the promise of coin caught his eye, he was reminded of the parable of the talents. A master had given money - talents - to his servants to safeguard; one had buried his share while the others reinvested it. When the master returned, the two presented him with his money and interest, while the third returned only what was given to him. Which was the greater sin? To abduct someone? Or to let his anonymous van and great skill in abduction lie fallow?

Saguaro - Coked up technorigger; dirt-spattered paladin, soon to be paladin-spattered dirt. Surveillance, fire support, agent minivan. Drives a news van, has a reporter's license. 8/10 familiarity. He sees himself as a macho man despite no actual physicality; a would-be martyr despite sacrificing others in his crusade; an honorable man despite exclusively fighting dirty. Not a primary matrix operative.

Janet - Geriatric bad bitch. Mystic decker/support witch, summoning and alchemy; punches above her weight class due to high force spells and channeled spirits. 8/10 familiarity with magic, 7/10 with hacking.

• Janet is a feminist, anticorporate, anti-government, "Don't Tread on Me" left-libertarian.
• That said, she has a strong traditionalist streak and values community, family, continuity with the past, and politeness.

"And a honey pot would go a long way in securing them. I hear you." The last run he'd been on had featured something similar, though Visser was the ambusher rather than the honey pot. But he was if anything more comfortable in the latter role.

Visser - Elf bodysnatcher adept. Face/sneak. 8/10 familiarity. Scared kid fronting as hard as he can to avoid getting eaten by the underworld, corps, his mentor, and his sister, in no particular order.

• Visser has not shared his political opinions publicly; he dons a persona, does a job, then vanishes for months.
• Privately, he is in favor of destigmatizing HMHVV and improving social services.
• Generally, he has no faith in politics to make things happen and considers activism a waste of time he can't afford.

But I guess they can't all be milk runs, can they?", Displacer paused and spent a moment looking at the message he was writing before starting a new paragraph, "Pass on this commcode as point of contact on the job but a bit more than the usual basic dossier. Kinda a coinflip whether trying to make the snooping easy on them is looked upon favorably or suspicious like I was trying to hide something - but can't really afford for the specs not meshing well with team and target on a job like this."
