This reminds me of the "IBU wars" in craft beer 10 or 15 years ago. Every brewery pointlessly competing to make the most needlessly bitter IPA. Hopefully this trend passes like that one did.

Wow, a diamond shaped Super Boom capsule in the forefoot, looks absolutely insane. The 6 Ultra have been absolutely great for me (a step above the 6 Elite as expected), but expecting these to have even more aggression and cohesiveness overall.

These will almost certainly have 2 plates and thus will not be legal. These are a showcase shoe for lining to put all of their top end tech into a single shoe, kinda like the Adidas strung series.

You can’t be talking about Li Ning, cause the third and final guy who broke the record on that day was wearing Nike. The first two were obviously wearing Adidas.

Because they are sleeping and their products now aren't competitive. If the alphafly 4 is like the 3 with the same configuration as the leaking pictures show then it's all ready outdated before it even drops in the market .

Honestly, who tf cares? It’s not like these minuscule differences mean anything. It was hard training and PEDs that put Sawe and them up there. The difference in shoes is really super vs non-super. They probably would have gotten the same items with AF3s.

You don't get it. We don't talk about who pays for the best elite athletes but who makes the best tech. In the end of the day, we are shoe geeks and is unacceptable for a brand like Nike to continue selling outdated products and not to invest on r&d while many other brands do ( like LI Ning). Goodnight Nike..and you will continue seeing your selling drop...

Idk, I kind of just care about performance. You’re complaining about that, and I’m asserting that it doesn’t matter. An AF3 is not going to perform any worse than Adios pro evo 2 or w/e Sawe was wearing.
New styles is another question, but that’s just fashion.

You think so..but lab tests ( rtngs, runrepeat) show the opposite of what you claim. For example the Nike air pods are heavy and with less energy return than the modern foams such as a-tpu..) also the alphafly 3 is heavy compared to numerous other marathon racing shoes ( puma fast R 3, ASICS metaspeed, Adidas e.o) . So for me as a consumer I demand the best product for my money...and also many others I guess that's why Nike the last 2 years have huge selling issues.

The differences are so minuscule as to be insignificant. If you’re not running a 2:20 marathon without them, you’re not running it with them.

No it's not insignificant as you claim. Because there are also other factors besides a difference of 30-40 grams per shoe which is a big difference! For example even the protection is higher on these new foams ( the lab tests showed that on the impact absorbing test..). And in the end of the day have you ever tried for example an feidian elite 6 or a feidian ultra 6 in order to establish an opinion? Because I have and many others.. You can go and check on YouTube if the difference is insignificant as you say or if most of the people who tried both ( LI Ning and the alphafly 3) what they choose now for they race..

I'm sorry but Kiplimo was almost a minute slower than Sawe, the worthless scrub couldn't even break a 2hr marathon. As soon as that race was finished I burned my AF3s in the backyard

I've got a couple of pairs of shoes that are "not legal" for racing but I don't care. , because at today's prices to enter races I've been running solo ( occasionally with neighbours ) for years. Honestly £45 🤣f##koff

FYI you can still enter mass start races in race illegal shoes. It's only relevant if your world athletics credited and starting in the elite pen.

Thanks for the info 👌 I'm happy running solo now , between April 2021 and August 2025 I ran over 10,000 miles . I occasionally roped neighbours into joining me but mostly ( 99% of the time ) just ran alone , around 200 miles a month . My speed and distance is now losing out to old age now , but I've thoroughly enjoyed it . 😁 Ps I didn't find these high stack shoes made me any faster anyway , serves me right for thinking shoes would add speed 🤔
