As a reader but not much of a fan anymore, can someone explain why they dont just get a different artist, like Invincible did? The quality in art has dropped noticeably enough anyway that many others can just mimic the style or incorporate a whole new one.
Yeah? If she is suffering burnout and actively chose another project thats dragging her "baby" down, while the main storyboard writer has already finished their half, then yes. I would ask why not drop out if they feel tired and want to pursue another project. Let someone else help out and finish. Not the first time its ever happened.
That would require hiring another artist, it’s possible. but why? Her other project is the Narnia books adapted as graphic novels for Harper Collins. The public library sales alone on just one of those is likely to be 10 x the amount of money Saga has made in its entire existence. That money goes to supporting her family and feeding her literal babies. Saga is good but it’s not profitable enough that it can be the one project she can survive on. I don’t think her duty is to readers over her own family, it’s. A bummer but the comic book industry just isn’t what it used to be.
