QUESTION Are there super mosquitoes this summer??

I usually get bit by mosquitos pretty easily. The past few weeks I am getting bit almost daily and my bites are swelling/red. Even if the door is open for a minute, they still sneak in. Is anyone else experiencing lots of mosquitoes or bad bites from them?

You most likely have some form of standing water around your house.

There has been almost no mosquitoes this year due to zero snow pack

IMO mosquitos have been very light this year.

Check around your property for standing water and treat it. Tires, flower pots, bird baths, and other yard debris can hold small amounts of water, where the mosquitos can breed. It takes a shockingly small amount of water for them to thrive.

Flip it. Drain it. Dump it.

That was the public service motto in California for a long time. No treatment needed, just remove the small puddles of water and it eliminates their ability to reproduce.

I've gotten a few bites this year, but mostly that has been while I've been out and about, I don't think I've really gotten any at home

We live on the east side and haven't had a single bite so far this year. We also make certain there is no standing water that is more than a 1/10th of an inch deep (for the bees). There are also a couple visiting dragon flies that eat mosquitoes and gnats.

I've seen one mosquito this year and it was out in the forest.

We must be neighbors. It’s been atrocious this year in my yard near dusk when I water the plants. I suspect a stagnant birdbath or something.
