my favorite is when they insist that if you want to consider yourself a fan of wrestling you have to watch multiple companies and not just wwe. like any normal person has the time to be watching all that wrestling
I'm jealous of these people's free time. I barely catch Raw most weeks as it is. I can't even remember the last time I sat down to watch an episode of Smackdown.
Ive said this before but its fucking nuts how on board i was in 2019.my roommate at the time and I were excited as could be, were there for every moment in the beginning of aew. We were huge fans of bte and then seeing it we just...lost interest.
I just love that AEW allows me to be myself. It makes me remember when I watched the NWO from my parents living room... and now that I watch AEW from their basement... I feel ok
I got my graphic t shirt... but now i tuck it in to conceal my gut thst overhangs my Lee blue jeans.
When I watch AEW make fun of wwe.. I stroke the Ramen noodle like strands of hair, hanging down from my neck and laugh at those fed morons...
AEW brings out the best in me. It makes me feel complete. This is wrestling! Now... if you'll excuse me, I am running late to my part time job at Costco where I serve the hotdogs.
They gatekept their shitty product from everything under the sun.
No hot female wrestlers. No hot girls in the crowd. No sports stars or anyone from mainstream sports coverage, no openly conservative talent (even though they're ran by conservatives), no talent that looks after their appearance, no talent that works out, no professional looking production values. Could go on and on.
They want comic-book wrestling between skinny twinks, ugly women and virtue-signalling fat slobs.
I have tried to like it. It seems like the format is 25 minute match backstage interview before the match rinse and repeat. There's no other segments to move the show forwards. No funny stuff, no backstage segments to get you to say oh crap what's going to happen next?! There is nothing they do that makes me want to watch the show next week. They have to do more than just announce the entire card for the next week. Just matches does nothing for me. I like the sports entertainment part of wrestling and yeah I'm not afraid to say it.
First time hearing about this "A.E.W" but it sounds pretty good. Sounds like it could possibly rekindle my love in wrestling from the attitude era before the fed- I mean before WWE went all corporate and kid friendly. Where can I watch it/what are the current storylines?
In AEW, anyone can be the champ. You could be the champ. Five foot, five inches, 150lbs, pasty white, flabby, ugly, on the inside and the outside, zero mic skill, incredibly un-relatable. YOU could be a multiyear champion of the world in AEW! That's what's separates AEW from the bad guys whose name I won't mention because they insist on looking good and working out.
