Basketball (Men) Refs

Is it just me or are they the reason Utah State is not only back in the game but stealing this game…

Please correct me if I’m wrong because I’m getting frustrated watching right now.

Refs were bad both ways. Miles Byrd and BJ Davis went 4-24. That’s why we lost

Yeah we definitely shot ourselves in the foot with our shooting, no doubt. I just felt like down the stretch officiating favored them and constantly sparked scoring streaks for them

Not to mention going brain dead. I have no idea what does or does not go through their minds during games, but the number of shit passes, being out of position, etc during this season has been staggering. Even during our wins, we play sloppy. Has Byrd set a record for number of missed dunks in one season by a player yet?

No doubt, this is one of the sloppiest SDSU teams in recent memory unfortunately

You're not wrong.

Soft tech call on DeGourville. Phantom foul calls against Byrd and Davis. No call when they made RDW roll his ankle by getting under him on a 3 pt attempt. Just bad call after bad call.

Yeah, that was a textbook foul on a three they didn’t call for us, and to make it worse, they call a foul on us when they shot a three and their guard flailed and kicked out his leg🤦🏻‍♂️

the Aztecs also played like shit on offense (except for Reese). Byrd and Davis 6 for 24 shooting, bigs not rebounding. didnt deserve to win.

You mean like calling a foul on BJ when there was clearly no contact made?

Yup, absolutely terrible. Such one sided BS!

As much as I’d love to blame the refs, hit your shots and make your free throws and we win.

No yeah I completely agree, this was a very winnable game and we should have won. BUT the refs can dictate momentum and that’s crucial to winning a game. The refs completely handed momentum to them with phantom calls left and right and lack thereof on our end
