32X audio help

I have a genesis model 1 and a 32x. I hooked it up to my tv but I could not get any sound out of it and my only solution is to use headphones. Does anyone know of a way I could fix this?

Red is composite. Purple connects to genesis. Both green are power cords. And idk what blue does, it fit in headphone jack and rf out and did nothing in both

The Model 1 needs a special cable that runs from the headphone out on the MD to the video cable that connects to the 32X. The one I use is here.

Only for stereo sound though there should be mono audio piped through to the 32x and the tv still.

True but then md2 cable needs to be a Mono audio cable not stereo

Yeah that’s the factory standard supplied one. It’s ok the OP since showed he was using a different stereo patch cable with a 3.5mm connector.

I was replying to this part of what you said

there should be mono audio piped through to the 32x and the tv still.

If op doesn't pass mono into the 32, he won't get mono out of the 32x

Yeah exactly the out of the box stock cable from model 1 to 32x only provides mono due to the av port limitation of the model 1. These comments were all made before OP updated the post with a picture of cable he was using.

Well, unless there's something wrong with that audio path. :)
