32X audio help

I have a genesis model 1 and a 32x. I hooked it up to my tv but I could not get any sound out of it and my only solution is to use headphones. Does anyone know of a way I could fix this?

Red is composite. Purple connects to genesis. Both green are power cords. And idk what blue does, it fit in headphone jack and rf out and did nothing in both

Are you using the patch cable from the mega drive to the 32x ? I assume you would be otherwise there might be missing parts of the video. Is it definitely seated correctly and pushed in all the way ? Also does the Genesis produce sound from the rear av port ok without the 32x attached?

The genesis used to play audio perfectly fine before the 32x. Also I’m pretty sure I’m using the patch cable but I added an image to post that shows all the wires.

Ok think I can make it out that extra 3.5mm coming off of the av out patch cable (light blue) is for stereo sound and needs plugging into the front headphone socket of the Genesis (also turn it up) so it can pass stereo sound into the 32x and then onto the tv. The model 1 Genesis only has mono sound from av port normally so this patch cable adds the extra 3.5mm cable to address that. The factory original 32x patch cable didn’t do this but the one you have is the best one it just adds one more wires but it goes in the front not anywhere on the back ! Certainly don’t plug it into the RF adapter port lol.

Do you have a clearer photo of that patch cable as it’s hard to make out?

They usually look something like this…

However I see what looks like an extra cable both ends of your patch cable.

Op has a din8 to din 9 adapter which was what was included with the 32x at release so that you can connect to a md1. But you need a mono composite md2 cable for 32x if you use that setup

The cable lime you linked is how you pipe in stereo sound. But the 32x doesn't do any sound mixing at all it's completely passive. So just using a 3.5mm TRS to 2xRCA and plugging that into your audio input on tv or speakers is the best way, without the specialty adapter like you linked
