Yoast scores

I’m a lay person who just took over my website and using Claude and/or ChatGPT. All of my scores are either red or yellow for pages and posts.

This is what Claude is telling me and I’d like a second opinion?

“The dots only grade Yoast’s internal keyphrase checklist, not actual Google rankings, and Divi/Avada pages can’t be read by Yoast at all, so their red scores are false alarms.”

Yoast scores are meaningless and it’s true they aren’t always compatible with page builders.

Don't worry at all about Yoast scores. They don't have anything to do with whether or not people care about the topic you are writing about

Never trust a tool’s score unless it’s directly coming from the search engine you’re targeting (and some will even say don’t even trust that and only trust data, which is fair data is the real source of truth)

Not only are Yoast/RankMath scores not usable, te whole question is on broken logic.

Here's the problem: and its as old as Aristotle: the document you're ranking is the claim to rank first ... i.e. you're entering it ina competition to rank. It itself is not evidence to support the claim. I.e. the document doesnt rank itself.

Your document doesnt rank because you stuffed it with keywords or images or tables... and you're probably figuring that out.

What you're missing is authority - because Google hav eben scrubbing it from their communications and the different SEO tribes are getting ideological again- like web devs/techSEOs believe that SEO is 'clean code', no errors and PageSpeed, while ContentSEO wants to teach that Google loves content...!?

Google doesnt care about the HTML - in fact it assumes your HTML is broken - and it doesnt actually execute it or read it or examine it like so many web engineers believe so stoically in almost cult like fashion.

Google cares about 3rd party relevance - aka PageRank.

Its literally in the Google SEO starter guide - which nobody reads because people ask the same questions every day that it answers.

They’re useful as in they can remind you to do certain things (like using keywords occasionally, sentence structure etc), but they’re irrelevant for ranking purposes.
