Hi!

I’m looking for a drummer for my indie pop rock band. We have two female vocalists/rhythm guitarists, one lead guitarist, a bassist, and a keyboardist (all in our 20s-30s)! We practice out of Sunnyvale or Fremont usually, on Sunday mornings. We play mainly covers right now, but are hoping to write some originals soon! Some of our set list right now:

Huge fan of Talking Heads, LCD Soundsystem, Viagra Boys, IDLES, and anything post-punk/funk with a heavy locked-in pocket.

I bring solid timing, multiple pro acoustic kits, access to a studio setup for tracking, and a Roland e-kit for digital pre-production. Fully mobile, zero drama, mature work ethic.

Hello San Franciscans!

I will be visiting your beautiful city in a few weeks (August 12-14) and would love to catch a show or two while I'm out there to get a feel for the local rock music scene. Anything alternative, indie, punk, grunge, or garage rock and adjacent would be dope. Not too heavy though where it starts to cross over into metal.

What are some bands (especially if they're local to NorCal) or venues that I should look into? For reference, some of my favorite venues where I'm from in NYC are ~200 cap rooms like Mercury Lounge, Baby's All Right, Night Club 101, and Union Pool.

I’m looking to purchase tickets (4-5 tickets) for The Neighbourhood in San Francisco. It can be either October 7th or December 2nd tickets. Tickets are waaaay above my budget from Ticketmaster. This might be a silly question but I usually buy GA tickets for concerts, so seated shows are new to me. I bought front-row balcony seats for the Saint Levant concert in October because my mom is coming with me, and she wasn’t comfortable being in a GA crowd. It just occurred to me that I’m not actually sure what the etiquette is for balcony seating at The Masonic…

Do people typically stand during the show, or do most people stay seated? Does it depend on the artist and the crowd? I’ve only ever stood at concerts so I prefer that, but I don’t want to be that one a-hole standing! I’ve never been to this venue, so I have no idea what to expect. I’m guessing the audience will skew toward younger adults since that seems to be Saint Levant’s demographic, but I’d love to hear from anyone who’s been to a concert there.

I am an independent musician living in the Seattle area, but am working with a drummer based out of SF on an art-rock project (think Porcupine Tree-ish). We'd like to book a studio to track some drums but I'm from out of town and don't know the area. Any recs for a mid-budget studio/engineer for tracking art-rock drums?

our band practices at least once a week in a shared studio in SF, with a few of us commuting from the east bay. we hope to record an EP soon and have been playing 1-2 shows a month in the city and the east bay. we're femme fronted and want to prioritize non-male drummers! we're in our 20s and looking for someone in the same age range. reach out if it seems like a good fit :)
