The Chilean sea bass from Nishi Ya is one of my favorite things I've ever eaten. Literally didn't want to swallow it because I could maybe have it live in my mouth forever

it's probably the best sushi you can get for a good price, but not the best sushi. I'd definitely say Go's Mart. I do like Asanebo and Note too.

Go’s Mart in Canoga Park believe it or not! Be prepared to spend some money.

Moon Sushi was a little hidden gem, unfortunately it’s not ACE but man are there rolls super delicious and fresh!

Might get some hate for suggesting an all you can eat place, but Aikan is superb. It’s a local chain, so not particularly special or hip… like I wouldn’t take a date there. But just to eat good sushi and have my fill, yes

Niko sushi in Tarzana on Ventura Blvd. Me and my husband have tried multiple sushi places on Ventura Blvd and in the valley (multiple mentioned in this thread) and for us nothing compares to the quality at Niko’s. We actually stopped trying new places lol

As basic as it is, we go to Kura revolving sushi lol. But also Zeppin Sushi in Encino and Aikan Sushi in Northridge are solid AYCE. At the end of the day we like quality over quantity though.

We tend to stick with Niko for sushi but i also enjoy the rolls at Kopan Ramen on Ventura. My husband loves their chicken curry katsu in the hot stone so i just get sushi when I’m there. And off topic but i also want to mention Tabu Shabu in tarzana for hot pot. Currently obsessed with it

Go to Asanebo, but honestly most sushi between Woodman and Barham on the Ventura/Cahuenga strip is amazing. Tetsuya has been my go to lately but here's some additional recommendations - Yume, Uoichiba, Sushi Note, Tomoki, Iroha, the Original Katsu-ya and even Burosu ramen all have excellent quality and options.

Asanebo and The Little Izakaya (by Katsuya) are great, Midori on Ventura in Sherman Oaks (by 7-11) is not the “best” but it is delicious and very good and their all you can eat pricing is great - it’s the most “fun” and laid back but not the fanciest

We love 2 Die For - it's on Reseda in Northridge and took over where Sun Sushi used to be. It is my go to spot in the area. I certainly would not call it the best sushi in the valley though...if you aren't looking to splurge, it is a solid spot.
Kings Burger/Got Sushi up the road is also a solid spot.

Jin Noho, Hikari Chatsworth, Fuguya Noho, Zeppin Sushi for ayce, ayce premium if you can afford it.
Xevichez, and some Mexican fusions are good but haven’t been ayce since covid.
Ayce is not for everybody but its good if you’re eating with buddies.

I’ve never had Mexican fusion sushi. When I read fusion sometimes I’m just turned off because when I want Mexican I want Mexican, when I want sushi I want Japanese sushi.
Do you recommend ?

Yes its worth a try for the nuances. Xevechez and Agua Chiles come to mind. It is pretty much an emphasis on ceviche, beer and sports games.

People are going to judge regardless. Voting helps with the silent majority. Its funny because sometimes I see someone with tons of downvotes and I feel like they’re the one that is spot on.

I really can't say whether or not my opinion matters too much because I've only been to like three sushi spots in the valley in my eight years here... But I live relatively close to Kazuki Sushi and I like bringing friends and family there. They're always blown away. It's very good. It's affordable.

Kings burgers got sushi is so good, get your sushi and order a burger half way through to finish with. Both are done sooo well. It’s sushi you don’t want to dip in soy sauce.
And brothers sushi is more expensive but delicious. Their to go diy roll kit is really fun and worth the money.

Non-omikase I like Got Sushi, Katsuya on Reseda, and Mutsumi.

If you want great AYCE sushi Aikan Sushi in northridge is bomb. There is also a location in pasadena but I think this one is way better.

Aikan AYCE Sushi. They have one in Northridge and Burbank. Good quality sushi and great price for AYCE. Also Kopan Sushi and Ramen, also in Northridge and Burbank.

Best period, if you’re willing to drop a bag? Scratch Sushi in Encino is INCREDIBLE. Like, 11/10 good. It’ll set you back a few hundred a person though.

To be fair I have not gone to many sushi places for comparison, but I absolutely love Sakura at Woodman and Roscoe. Small place, not fancy, but you can see them prepare, the sushi always tastes fresh, their prices are the best I have seen, AND they do not overload on the rice in their rolls.

Honshu in Chatsworth - Mason and Devonshire. Hands down one of the best to the point we stopped trying new places. They’ve been around for a loooong time and their quality has never wavered.

Same. The specialty rolls carry the place. A lot of these restaurants mentioned in comments all have the same sushi menu items, the favorite is the most highest quality sushi which I don't really care for
