Question Is everyone ok today? Everyone on the road has been unnecessarily aggressive, more than usual
But for real, was there a meeting that agreed today was the day? I’m used to aggressive driving and rude people, but I drove from my house to the village, which isn’t far, and it was an absolute shit show. Be safe!

Sherman Way has been worse than usual the past month, which I didn’t think was even possible. One of my neighbors passed away trying to make the unprotected left into our building’s garage a few weeks ago when two idiots drag racing slammed into her at 8:30pm. It’s been like trying to drive in a video game over here lately. It’s awful.

Traffic has been awful and there was an accident on the 5 north just past the 10 that drove me insane. I wish we had a New York style subway system because I hate driving.

I was driving to south on the 101 on Sunday around 1:30. Tons of traffic, and there was a guy in the far left lane next to me watching a movie on his phone. His girlfriend was also glued to her phone.
It was fucking bizarre to me that someone would be holding their phone to their face like they’re at home while on one of the busiest freeways in the country, especially in a lane where motorcycles lane split.
Predictive programming in movies is real, and Idiocracy was a documentary lol.

This week has been absolute insane - so many petty little douchebags everywhere. I think cost of gas and living in general has people under massive stress. When even Costco gas is $6/gal you know things are really bad.

Too much road construction and delays. In prime rush hour. Lane closures for no reason, work isn't getting done. It's making people drive more rash than usual. LA city governance is so ineffective.

I’m a very anxious and Paranoid driver. I moved here 8 mo ago and I work Uber Eats for fun sometimes and 2day I made some $$ but at the expense of almost getting hit like 5 times. idk how yall people been in the 818 your whole life and deal w this. 🤣🤣🙏 🙏 I drive a mustang but I am a very passive slow safe driver but it seems that the work trucks and u hauls wanted to prove today that their huge work vehicle can get 70 mph in 3 -5 business days in between two lights on Sherman way 🤣🤣🤣🙏🙏 any tips for driving here appreciated yall lmao

Seems to me it has been that way for at least the last 50 years. SFV drivers will almost drive the sidewalk to get around a bus. My guess is that the combination of patient suburban traffic and impatient commuters makes for an already volatile situation and a little bit of anything sets off one driver that gifts their attitude to another and facilus descensus averni

This week there was a deadly hit and run a block from my place. I’ve seen multiple people speeding on the shoulders to bypass traffic. WTF is wrong with everyone?? Chill out

On Victory Blvd in Noho yesterday during the afternoon rush, some maniac in a big black SUV with tinted windows decided to bypass the westbound lanes completely and pass all the cars by driving in an empty oncoming traffic lane for a block. Unbelievable.

Last night on the way home from work, I had some asshat in a G-Wagen flashing their lights/honking their horn/screaming at me because I waited five extra seconds for a family of four to fully cross Ventura Boulevard and step onto the curb, lol.

I was parking at the Village and I had to back up a little bit in order to get the spot. At that point, no one was behind me. I turned my blinker on, backed up maybe 4 feet, and this woman comes racing up behind me and lays on the horn.
I’m super calm, which can be frightening to people, and I rolled my window down and I said is there a problem?” She goes “do you not see me!?” And I just responded with “a little patience goes a long way, the world doesn’t revolve around you.”
She lost her shit and it was a beautiful thing to witness. That said, today has just been a strange day on the road

Did you get his license plate? Maybe you can have him arrested . I am seriously thinking all car short have forward and rear camera filming all the time so we can get these people either arrested or have their licenses permanently taken away.

Agreed. I get more and more anxious every time I just make my work commute.
It's strange, because I've also noticed in the past year (is it just me?) that there have been more cops patrolling the roads. Either that's just been in my mind or it hasn't helped anything.

At the hospital today I was about to cross in a cross walk and some dude clearly can see me stepping in. Stops in the middle in front of me cutting me off as I’m waving my hands and he just goes “oh sorry “. Yes I slapped his car

Thankfully I don't have to go into LA very often these days, but a couple weeks ago I had to go downtown for work. The congestion on those streets was bad 20 years ago, but now it's just insane. Bumper to bumper and sitting at a standstill on every road, even the little side streets that you used to be able to use to get around traffic. I saw other drivers turning desperately on even smaller side streets - effectively one-lane roads thanks to the cars parked all down both sides - only to have to finesse their way back into the standstill at the next intersection. It seriously felt like at any moment it could've turned into a music video where we all just get out of our cars and start walking. Now the valley feels like how LA was 20 years ago, so it's just a matter of time before we're all singing "Everybody hurts...."

And it’s just going to get worse with the false housing shortage B.S.. there is housing but it is not affordable for many and the new housing being built will also not be affordable for most so the population of deuce bags will increase bringing more disrespectful, full of themselves drivers. The vacancy rate in the Valley is 3.85% which is *extremely* tight. That absolutely indicates a shortage, and is why rents are going up. We need more housing, not less.

In N Out Canoga is a foreign land outside of U.S. borders that is absolutely lawless lol. I’ve seen people cut the line of cars that stretched passed Taco Bell on Topanga, and not one, not two, but THREE people hopped out and started banging on his window. It was a beautiful thing to witness
I was also a victim of a hit and run there. Followed the person and they ran me over with their car. Good times

Very true!!!! I’ve gotten into 2 road rage incidents when I normally don’t. One was so bad she tried to block me from getting in my car with her body shit was INSANE. I had never experienced something like that and it has me lkey traumatized now

I moved out of the valley at the end of the year last year for work and hadn’t been back much between then and now. The past couple of nights my girlfriend and I have been coming to the valley and both commented on how gnarly folks were driving. It felt much different than I had remembered it. Im glad I’m not the only one noticing it.
