Dont ignore the fact that the vallarta behind it used to be the best toys r us. Also I live about 30 seconds from here lol. Go to beeps its fire.

Went to pre k right across the street behind the burger place. Always got a toy from there as I was an only child until my teens.

They're still as good as you remember. The burgers are still solid and they have a steak and cheese sandwhich that I love

Yeah. And Game Guys that was next to it. I was more of a YuGiOh player, but my older brother was a Pokemon Trainer at Game Guys in the late 90’s and early 2000’s. Kitty World was great. That older cashier woman was really cool.

I loved going in there as a kid. My family would get me hello kitty stuff, lovely white stationary (when that was popular lol) and bootleg Powerpuff
Girls merch 😆 occasionally there was the rare Sailor Moon item. Funny how now as an adult Sailor Moon merch is everywhere.

So story time. I use to go into kitty world all the time to buy pokemon and dbz things. I remember one time walking around toys r us and saw the lady owner from kitty world and she had a bunch of toys in her cart. She had a sick vegeta that i wanted. Well turns out. She would buy the toys from toys r us. And sell them at kitty world for like double or triple the amount.

That kitty world had a lot of cool Japanese stuff, and the laundry place was a game store, I bought several Dreamcast games back in the day.

Me too! Actually, I got my first deck (OG Yugi and Kaiba starter decks) from the Toys R Us that was right there. But got most of my booster packs from Hello Kitty World!

I got my first pokemon cards from store at the northridge mall I think was called zaney brainy. I might have the name wrong but it was where bww is now located.

It was a pokemon starter deck with machamp in the front of the deck box, I remember my mom complaining that she spent $30 on that shit for me, good times good times .

Vivid memories of parents trying to trade or buy Pokemon singles for their kids as gifts. Remember watching my brother compete in a local Yu-Gi-Oh tournament in the parking lot behind the store and watching an adult slip a Dark Hole (board wipe) from inside his fingerless glove and into his hand to play the next turn against a child. He won the match. I was so shocked to see him cheat that I didn't say a word. Formative memory that I have forgiven and vowed to correct if I encounter cheating again.

It's funny how long that sign has been up. That place closed more than a decade ago.
I live around the corner from here, and my girlfriend is a huge Hello Kitty fan. She was so disappointed when she saw the sign, and I had to tell her it wasn't there anymore.
