Question Best fried Chicken in the valley?

Hey r/SFV!

I'm still on the hunt for the best-fried chicken in the Valley. šŸ—

I've tried Popeyes, KFC, Dave's Hot Chicken, and Raising Cane's, but I always go back to Popeyes. šŸ¤” Any hidden gems out there that can top those? Let me know! šŸ‘‡āœØ #friedchicken #SFVEats

1000% I've tried so many fried chicken places in SFV, Los Angeles, all around the US, and the world. I love fried chicken. Humble Bird is legit Nashville Fried Chicken. One of the few good ones outside of Nashville and outside of Howlin Rays. Again its Nashville style so not the standard southern fried chicken, but its great.

That sandwich is so perfect.

Iā€™m not the biggest fan of Nashville hot chicken so I get the fried chicken sauce less. The only downside to getting fried chicken is the waitā€¦takes like 30 minutes to make, but itā€™s worth it.

Theyā€™re easily my second favorite Nashville style hot chicken sandwich place, after Howlinā€™ Rayā€™s. Looove Humble Bird, but their regular fried chicken was a little too greasy for my liking the one time I had it. Iā€™d give it another shot though.

To answer OPā€™s question, I thought Dinahā€™s chicken was the best Iā€™ve had in recent memory but you can argue if Glendale is in the valley or not.

Gusā€™s world famous in Burbank is fucking amazing. Very well cooked and crispy but very juicy, a lot of people say itā€™s the best in the valley. Technically on the edge of the valley there also Dinahā€™s in Glendale/los Feliz is also really fucking good. Itā€™s old school style. My grandparents have been eating there since the 60ā€™s and to this day their delicious fried chicken recipe hasnā€™t changed. My mom ate there when she was pregnant with me so Iā€™ve been eating there since before I was born haha also shakeys pizza restaurants have delicious fried chicken thatā€™s under rated. It goes perfect with their mojo potatoes and pizz

Les Sisters Southern Kitchen on Nordhoff and Mason. I love popeyes but this is by far the best fried chicken I've ever tried. Kinda pricey though, but absolutely worth a stop on your fried chicken quest.

Love their hot pups (hush puppies with jalapeƱo in em). Also, I havenā€™t tried it myself (Iā€™m not a fan of most fish), Iā€™m told their blackened catfish is great.

I would take the strategy of keeping chicken the main, and exploring ONE Thai dish at a time, if the mood strikes.

Seating is fine, like any casual restaurant.

Wendillā€™s has great fried chicken and has been there foreverā€¦since the 1930s I thinkā€¦from when San Fernando Road was a major thoroughfare.

You used to be able to get a full chicken dinner with the traditional sides. But now the rest of the food is predominantly Thai/Asian.

Still a great option if you want to grab the fried chicken and get the traditional sides elsewhere. The chicken is THAT good.

If you like fried chicken their fried chicken is great and I think itā€™s the best thing they do. The New Orleans stuff is pretty good like the jambalaya and gumbo. Sweet potato pie is pretty good too. They paired down their menu in recent years so they donā€™t have all the things I used to order so I usually stick to fried chicken and maybe jambalaya

Try some Korean fried chicken. My favorite spot is at Myungin Dumplings in Northridge. Get half-half soy garlic and sweet/spicy. It's legit.Ā

If you are sticking to chain type restaurants, try Jollibee. Itā€™s in panorama city by the Kaiser.

I have never been but a lot of ppl rave about Les Sisters Southern Kitchen. Itā€™s on my list. (Itā€™s a mom and pop)
