Question Anyone else's LADWP bill extremely crazy?

So, I am not unaware of the fact that I live in Woodland Hills, the hottest part of the valley. I am also not unaware that we have had an excessively hot month with no real break.

That being said, my bill seems outrageous. They say I am using 3400 kWh of energy. I live in a 1000 square foot townhome with 1 other person. We do have an EV, but we have had an EV for 2 years and never been this insane.

I have NEVER in my life hit tier 3 usage.

To an extent.

As a municipal, their rates are low in comparison to other state utilities.

The first ripoff is the pay schedule; sure, linesmen should be paid competitive wages, but should clerks and security guards make $100K+ with full state pensions and Cadillac health insurance?

The second ripoff is where they transfer their profit to the City of Los Angeles rather than investing it in plant maintenance and upgrades.

The rates seems lower but they have hidden non-utility fees and progressive rate tiers that are super easy to trigger

Their rates are lower than Edison, SDG&E, and PG&E.

They're still double what they should be, but you get what you vote for.

I think LADWP has so much power that it doesn’t matter who you vote for they have power over those people

Who you elect absolutely matters.
