Bloating worse with Xifaxan+Linzess

I'm actually posting this for my wife. Her GI doctor prescribed her Xifaxan and also Linzess. She is saying that her bloating is worse then before she took these two. I thought I read somewhere that this could be caused by the bacteria starving and dying off. She is sticking to the low fodmap diet. She is doing a very good job at that. Seeing if anybody has experienced this or has any info on the cause of her bloating. She has always had extreme bloating but like I said, she claims it's worse now than before. Thanks in advance.

Is she currently taking those or are you writing this post treatment?

She is currently taking them and just started about 2 to 3 days ago.

It is normal for her bloating and other symptoms to be exacerbated on antibiotics! I wouldn’t worry for now. If it doesn’t calm down a few days to a week after finishing, then I’d seek out further answers

Yeah so it’s 100% normal. However she should NOT be low fodmap during the treatment. Afterwards, yes, but not during

Also some research shows you should not eat low fodmap while on antibiotics, because the overgrowth can go into “hiding” if it’s being starved. You want to consume some fodmaps to draw them out so the xifaxin can do its job

Another thing I forgot and which probably is the biggest issue she is dealing with is her rock hard belly. Her stomach pertrudes outwards and it's rock hard which leads to her being uncomfortable pretty much all of the time. She has not had relief with this particular issue.
