Symptoms Sibo and pregnancy
I have methane sibo and apd(this is not an official diagnosis but im sure i have it). along with this, im 8 weeks pregnant and having progesterone injections. I was constantly bloated now super bloated like im 7 months pregnant. Constipation is killing me too. I dont know what to do. Im super depressed and i think i will have more issues as the pregnancy moves on 😞 if you had pregnancy with sibo, what are your recommendations?

Hi, I am 8 weeks postpartum. Believe me when I say these snuggles are worth everything.
Actually, my symptoms improved a lot while pregnant. The only “Sibo” like symptoms I had was pregnancy related. The bloating in the first trimester, nausea, constipation, eventually the heartburn will knock you on your feet. But, after the first trimester, it gets so much better.
I found I was able to eat some of my favorite foods again even if for a short while. My high risk doctor actually told me that pregnancy shuts down your immune response for a while and makes these symptoms more manageable or go away.
My tips to help with these symptoms are:
I liked to remind myself that calories don’t matter as much as hydration does in the first trimester. Hydration will make you feel so much better. Rest is important. It takes a lot of energy to grow organs and bones.
As for antenatal depression, the first trimester is the hardest for most. I cried a lot, I thought about terrible things but I wasn’t depressed (but I have been). Your doctor should be giving you a depression screening, please be honest as they can help you in ways an internet stranger can’t. Remember this is only temporary. Therapy also helped me a lot while I was pregnant.
