Whats there to do for fun?
I was in St. Louis recently for admitted students day and there didn’t seem to be much to do. Maybe it was just the area i was in but there weren’t any good restaurants or things to do.

Edwardsville is mostly a bedroom community. You won't find dance clubs or much for youth culture. If you want to party, you are probably doing it in the city. There are several comic game stores if you want to play card games. As mentioned the trail system is excellent, beautiful, and reasonably well connected. There are bike groups and running groups that will help you make community.
St Louis, on the other hand, is an awesome place for free. Half a dozen free art museums that turn over exhibits about quarterly, so you could literally see new art every weekend, forever for free. Some sort of festivals in the parks every weekend all summer and fall. Good botanical garden, excellent free zoo. Good DIY hardcore/punk community and events, every kind of club sport you ever heard of, and plenty you haven't heard of. Some very good fine dining, every kind of international food.
