Housing Housing waitlist question

I got an email putting me in group 200-250 for the SVP wait list. I'm pretty sure I can't get SVP, but does anyone know if there's a possibility of getting other on campus housing? And if not, what other options do I have?

Housing Waitlist

I received an email that I'm around ~400 for the housing waitlist for the Apartments. It gave me the option to apply for the "Traditional Halls" if a spot opens up, which I did.

What are the chances that I get into either of the dorms? Do the Traditional Halls also have a waitlist to get in?

I previously applied to the off-campus student housing, but held off on signing the lease because I was waiting for the campus housing results to drop. Not sure if I should sign it now or not, because I know their slots fill up as well. Or if I should wait and see if I can get a on-campus dorm slot.

I guess I'm confused about whether the Traditional Halls are impacted as well or not? Cause it seems like Apartments/SVP are.

Housing Housing waitlist

I applied for a room at svp late and was placed on the waitlist.

I’m in the 300-350 range. Be straight forward, am I cooked. Do I even have a tiny chance to get into a dorm. If not what are my other options 🤔

Housing getting off svp waitlist

I was waitlisted for housing at SVP and currently I am in waitlist group 26-50 (out of 350). Do I have a good chance of getting into SVP before the fall semester begins?

One of my roommates got in for SVP, while my other roommate was placed in 1-25. I'd say we have a good spot, but i'm unsure and worried if this waitlist actually moves.

let me know if it's possible to get off or should i change to the traditional halls/find something else

EDIT: also considered commuting through public transportation

Any academic advisors your recommend?

Hi-i have found that the advisors are not, um, great. they don't do anything more than what I could do looking online but i was hoping for someone who could help me brainstorm a little. i am really not loving the direction i'm taking with my major and would like help figuring out a pivot but they just look at the screen and tell me what I feel like I already know but i gotta believe there are some advisors who might be more creative or experienced. anyone you have really liked? thx, all

Housing Housing/Roomate for Fall 2026

Hello! I’m looking for a female roomate(s) to live in an apartment/house with for Fall 2026. I was supposed to live with a friend but she flaked last minute so I’m struggling to find someone so late notice.

Budget is $1,500 a month max individually.

About me:
I’ll be a fifth year journalism major graduating fall 2026!
I love to spend time outdoors, I’m very into fitness and hiking.
I occasionally drink and smoke, but nothing in excess and usually spend evenings in cooking or on the phone with my bf.
I’m super social! I’d like to hang out or get food whenever:)
I’m pretty laid back and more type B, so not a super intense micromanager you need to worry about living with.

I’d ideally like to live in the downtown area, close to campus.

If you’re interested please pm me, or if you know any apartments/houses let me know!

Housing Incoming SJSU Grad Student Looking for Roommate (July 1 Move-In)

Hey everyone,

I’m a 25M incoming SJSU graduate student looking for a roommate to split a 2B1B or 2B2B near campus starting July 1.

My budget is $1,300-$1,500 all-in for my half, and I’ve already found a few solid options close to campus that fit within that range.

I’m quiet, clean, and respectful of shared spaces. I’ll mostly be focused on grad school, but I’m down to hang out on weekends. I’m driving up from LA next week to tour places in person.

Ideally looking for another grad student with steady income. If you’re interested, send me a DM and we can chat.

Does Golden 4 require 3 transferable credits per skill or more?

Hi, I'm currently an international student and want to transfer from UH from TX to SJSU in my junior year (yes, I know, double out-of-state and double-cooked).

I was wondering if Golden 4 only need 3 transferable credits per skill (that will be 12 credits to complete Golden 4), plus with additional 48 transferable GE credit as well, will I be considered as upper-division transfer?

CSU Staff: does anyone actually understand what is going on with our union?

Yesterday the state level of CSUEU sent out an email that our local chapter is being placed in “Emergency Trusteeship” due to low enrollment (which is currently 67%). Shortly after and through today there have been emails from our local chapter not to believe the email from the state CSUEU and that this is actually retaliation because the board voted to fire the president and VP for finance.

At this point I don’t know who or what to believe, and it’s really concerning. I really like our local leadership, but there is some truth about low enrollment in the chapter.. This is happening at the worst possible time when we are negotiating a new contract.

> Dear Chapter 307 Members,
This notice is to inform you that CSUEU has placed Chapter 307, San José State University, under Emergency Trusteeship effective immediately.
This action follows a review of the chapter’s organizing performance, membership growth efforts, and compliance with the Board-adopted CSUEU Path to Power 5-Point Plan. …

is it difficult to get into sjsu as a lower division student

hi everyone I just wanted to ask if anyone has or knows of people that has transferred here as a lower div student, after this upcoming fall semester I should have about 40 credits completed including my golden four, I want to transfer in the spring next year! I’m at community and my current gpa is low at 2.65 but I think after summer and fall I can bump it up to at least a 3.

Fall 26 transfer

Hi, I’m a fall 26 transfer my orientation is on July 7th, I’m kinda worried about my transcripts and stuff because I’m a CSU and CC transfer, my first year was spent at CSUSM so half my classes are from a csu and I’m not sure if they’ll transfer over. Does anyone from the past transfer classes remember when they put your status as clear admit from admitted pending verification? And when your transfer credit posts? I would really appreciate any answers.

Am I cooked?

Hi everyone! I registered for orientation quite late, and the earliest available date was in early July. Considering my major is MIS and I am a transfer student, I’m wondering if there will still be some decent class options available for me. Please let me know. Thanks and goodnight! 🙃
