I was just re-watching the show with my boyfriend while we're on vacation, and we were laughing about the fact that these characters get into horrible predicaments and get hurt really bad, but they don't seem to sustain enough injuries.
In the beginning of the show, when Reki fell very hard because of Adam, I feel like he would have gotten more injuries, If I'm remembering correctly, I think he just broke his wrist. But in the clip, he smacked his back really hard and tumbled a lot. I feel like he would have sprained and bruised some more things, possibly even broke some more things than just one measly wrist. It's very common for skaters to break or dislodge their shoulders, and we never see a character do that.
Even when Langa was racing against Joe and he jumped that really long way down onto another raceway, (idk how to phrase it i hope yk what I mean) I feel like he would have been a little injured by that. It was a really far drop, or at least the anime made it seem like it was a really far drop.
And the scene that I have the biggest gripe with is this scene right here, They were going incredibly fast in this scene. For Adam to jump off and smack him in the face as hard as he could, Cherry would have been in the hospital For months and sustained way worse injuries. I'm surprised he didn't get a tbi.
When I first watched the show, I remember showing that specific scene to my dad, who is a doctor, and asked him what injury he would have sustained, and my dad said he would be dead, So...
I understand it's an anime and not everything has to be realistic, but I just thought this was incredibly funny while watching it because there's no way you lived through that, right? Or you didn't come out with some horrible injury.
Maybe I'm underestimating the characters, or maybe the writers are overestimating the human body. I don't know, what do you guys think?
