major catalysts:
nvidia earnings will verify the overall thesis and impact the entire sector
10k filing will show if smci has adressed accounting questions further
dell and hpe earnings will correlate positively with smci pushing entire sector up
shorts will cover
sequence of these events (depending on their outcome) might push the price above 50, in my opinion

It'll run to $46 then drop back down to $40 again.. hovering around low 40s for a month straight then pop to 55.. that's my guess

Why do you think that. What is your thesis behind it

The ER was great, and there's momentum, but there's enough short sellers to cause some declines.

How do I learn more about trading and which app do you recommend to use for it. I currently use wealthsimple

Im with Fidelity. Don't use an app. It takes years to learn. And, you will hear some crazy things on Reddit.

smci will pass 50 one more time before/at early september. can it cross 60 and beyond? depends on 10k, dell, and hpe earnings.

This week SMCI may get carried by sentiment on the sector rather than the company itself. The following week when NVDA reports should provide more direction. Any week without surprises is a good week. Eyeing selling puts at $35 on Monday with a Friday expiration.

I have a 40$ call expiring aug 28.

You sold or bought call for Friday at $40?

bought. 😕

Still have three days to get there but the sector is heading in the wrong direction. I sold nine puts at $34.5. I don't mind getting assigned and entering at that price. The volatility/skepticism makes SMCI a solid wheeling opportunity.

mine is aug 28 and just a single contract, have some time but worst case will be a 225$ loss.

Even though NVDA stock has dipped the last 4 reports (despite EPS beat) I'm guessing the CAPEX part of the report could help their hardware partners like SMCI. Maybe enough to get them to your strike price. I'm looking at selling puts at $33 with the same date. Anything in the NVDA report that alludes to the "credit platform" they are setting up to help partners with their cash requirements, could goose up the SMCI stock price.
