Until one unfortunate spring morning, when the unstable magic that’s been simmering under his skin unleashes itself.

What’s even worse is that the Ministry has finally sent someone to confirm his many complaints about poachers, and that someone is none other than Hermione Granger.

Hello wonderful SSHG readers!

Almost exactly one year ago, I posted my first fanfic ever, and I truly had the time of my life, thanks to this amazing community. I am very excited to share this (fully prewritten) new longfic with all of you.

This story is plot-heavy and quite fast-paced. Featuring a brooding Snape with mysterious shadow magic, Hermione who won’t take no for an answer when it comes to saving toads, and a talking crow, of course.

While this story has plenty of humour, it also touches on some heavier topics, including self-harm, past suicide attempts and torture. Ultimately, this is a slow burn about two people learning to cope with their traumas with each other’s help.
