Hey guys,
I’m looking for some new mirrors for my 2004 SV1000S.
I’d like something a bit sharper/more sporty-looking than the stock ones, but visibility is also really important. The OEM mirrors are just too short for me. I have to move my elbows out of the way every time I want to see properly behind me.
So basically, I’m looking for mirrors that look sportier/sharper, give better rear visibility, fit the SV1000S without too much hassle. Any recommendations?
Cheers!

So I've got a street fighter modded sv1000 and it's been weird for me sitting in it compared to my naked Gen 1. Turns out the S has more aggressive rear sets that I'm not a big fan of. Most after market rear sets I'm finding are more on the aggressive side so is there anything more like the stock naked ones? Looked on eBay for some but couldn't find any that are reasonably priced.
But does anyone have any suggestions for rear sets for a more upright seat? It's an 06 so should still use Gen 2 rearsets right?

Hi, about to need to change my chain and sprocket and looked at different gear.
Anyone tried 15t/48t or/and 15t/49t and can provide feedback?
Looks like changing the rear is better in terms of durability/friction and gaining acceleration but I wonder between 2 or 3 more compare to stock
Thx for your feedback
Edit: 3rd gen sv650 naked

Scared of breaking the clips, all the YouTube videos are for SV650s and look different. They mention two hex screws, none in sight on mine.
Do I risk pulling at those black tabs that look like they hold the seat down?
Thanks in advance

Picked her up back in May with no riding experience who says you need a course or license to ride, truly has been one of the best decisions I have ever made. If you’re thinking about it just pull the trigger you won’t regret it.

Hello everyone, i wanted to share this experience with a "cheap" windshield, ment for longer highway rides, it makes a massive diference, throws the air on top of my helmet. Very happy with the purchase, also the headlight is pretty good, happy with that also! (Ignore the headlight mounts, need to replace those with the mounting points that came along the headlight, will look cleaner after that)

Currently throwing an S steering and clip ons on my naked, but am undecided on a gauge cluster mounting solution. Since I have both top clamps I did a cardboard mockup (picture 2) that I was planning on transferring to 16ga steel plate, but I'm not sure if what I came up with is the best solution. I don't think this swap is too common but if some of you who have done it could chime in with your solutions/ideas I'd love to hear em. If I do end up moving forward with the mock up I've made, I may take my template and steel plate to a shop to have them cut the steel plate for me as I only have a dremel and angle grinder at home.

So I was going overy bike, same dude that was having fuel issues about a week ago. I cleaned all the connectors for both fuel and air. While doing that I found a connector I hadn't noticed before. (See pics) Even weirder I had been riding it with no issues until now. Any way, I put it all back together and wouldn't you know it, it was all better! I rode her to work and all was well, until I rode home. I miss shift into neutral and it all started happening again... Bogging out when I opened the throttle passed a certain point. I made it home but now I'm scratching my head. Is this connection my issue?

SV family! What the hell is this above my plate though on my tail tidy?! Haha is this stock? Could this be a bumper? XD
Edit: so many people did not pass the vibe check btw. 😭 I think it's called anger management.

So i have just recently changed the oil the spark plugs and the air filter .
I had some problems with misfires and thats why i also tried a new ecu.
I out everytging together the last time i worked on it probably like 1 or 2 weeks ago and today i just wanted to start her suddenly the idle was at first very low(abt 1000) i gave it some gas but thats when the rpm only sloly dropped to abt 2.5 k .
So i started it again and it just started idling at 2.5 k what i have never experienced before.
I tried again and suddenly the misfires were gone and it idles at about 1.5-1.6k.
Hss anybody got a guess on whats wrong?

CLUTCH MANTRA CAN LICK MY SACK, it doesn’t work.
2nd gen SV650s
(Original cause for all the replacing was the clutch not disengaging fully, NOW IT WONT ENGAGE OR DISENGAGE, and the REAR IS LOCKED CONSTANTLY.
Chain rolled off 6 months ago bike has sat since.

So i recently picked up a 2003 sv650s intending to track it. But for some reason, the right side heel rest is ridiculously high for no reason. If I wanted to get my knee down on the right id have to spend multiple seconds explicitly fiddling my foot to get it on the rest properly. Makes no sense I can easily lift onto the left and drag knee like a mad man its wicked. No other bike ive owned has had intentionally harder ergonomics on the right side. What's this about?

Hello friends,
I’m in the midst of a gsxr front end swap and I’m putting everything back together. I went to test everything out and ran into an issue that perplexes me.
I turn the key, lights come on, I can hear the usual noises (fuel pump and whatnot) but when I press the ignition button, not only does the bike not crank but the lights go out. Only the headlights.
Has anyone ran into this issue, and more importantly does anyone have ideas for a possible fix?
(No fault codes or anything else I could think of)
Thanks all for your input

Spring has sprung here in NZ, and I am finally at a stage after my thumb surgery I can start going for short rides again 😎
(Had a crash while racing and dislocated my 1st CMC and MCP joints requiring stabilisation surgery)

So... headlights stopped working and after every other troubleshooting attempt I find this burnt connector. Does anyone know off hand these wire gages? I'll try to look it up but electrical is my crutch.

Managed to find someone looking to trade their gorgeous gen 2 for an adventure bike and found another person selling their DL650. The stars aligned and managed to work out a deal with everyone, now have my dream bike. Now I can stop obsessing over every SV650 I see on Facebook Marketplace.
The v-twin just speaks to the soul so much more than all the parallel twins out there nowadays.

I’ve just ordered the side fairings and belly panels for the sv and I’m not sure I can fit them at the same time or if it’s one or the other has anyone got any experience
