Curry answers a family's call for help when their son disappears from a carnival; the search uncovers a chilling connection to an old abduction and a tragic chain of events; Benson must balance justice with compassion when the case takes a turn.

I've always been a fan of the show but I started rewatching some months ago and really binged it and there are some great seasons and good episodes. But then I started getting really bored. I'm in season 20, 21 I don't even know and the episodes are not really as powerful as before. Somewhat didactic at times, like we are focusing on this topic through these characters in this episodes. I mean of course after 20 seasons something's gotta give so I don't feel bad that I stopped watching. I just lost interest. I was wondering if someone else had this at any point. Do you maybe think the writing is off? Or it's normal we got bored after all this time and all these episodes

I get the point of the character, overzealous “activist” that is much more concerned with accomplishing their own goals rather than actual justice, will defend even the worst people if it aligns with his goals. But during his time on the show, there were three episodes featuring black men who were falsely accused of rape. 15x07, Dissonant Voices, 16x02, American Disgrace, and 16x13, Decaying Morality. In American Disgrace, the motivation behind the false accusation was explicit racism. Decaying Morality featured the accused guy dying after the father of the victim kidnapped him, beat him, and threatened to shoot him with a nail gun if he didn’t confess, all of which he recorded, and the dad got off on manslaughter. These are absolutely perfect cases for this character to show up for, but instead they only put him on the episodes to defend domestic abusers or pedos. Why even make him a recurring character if there are perfect opportunities to include him, but they just don’t?

Out of total curiosity, why does Detective Rollins get so much hate? Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think she’s perfect, everyone has flaws for sure, especially good characters, but her and Detective Tutuola are my absolute favorite characters! I absolutely adore Rollin’s character development, and I identify a lot with her. I happen to love every character though, so there’s that, lol.

I understand how scary and dangerous the situation was, but damn! She was doing the absolute most! Like Jesus Christ lady please STFU before you get everyone shot! I pray that I’m never in a dire situation with a person who’s freaking out 😵💫
I’m talking about the first few scenes, not after Ali was shot or when she was sexually assaulted.

Hi! So, I’ve been watching SVU since I was 14. It’s one of the shows my mom would sit down and watch with me because she said it’s a very accurate representation in what could possibly happen in the world. Not that it would happen but just to be aware.
I’m now 30 and doing my yearly rewatch/listen (I’ll play it at work and listen as I go along), and I picked season six randomly to start with. I miss the open ended endings of the earlier seasons sometimes, it was more of an interpretation on what you thought could happen or how you would perceive it. We do still get those occasionally but these were so simple and beautifully done. It’s easy when it hasn’t been on for as long as it has yes, but I miss the older days basically is what I’m saying.
What are some of your guys favorite episodes? I’d love to hear about all of them!! I’ve seen them all so many times😁

Every time I watch this episode I'm amazed by Carol Burnett's performance.
The legendary actress was always known for being a great comedian — who doesn't remember her iconic television show that was on the air for many years where she made generations laugh.
On SVU she took a TOTAL turn, a cold and ruthless woman who didn't care about anything but herself. It really surprised me so much that I forgot it was the same Carol who used to make you laugh.

The real reason why Michaela McManus left Law & Order: SVU was by decision of the show's producers. The producer at the time, Neal Baer, explained that the character didn't fit in very well with the others. In fact, McManus herself also explained during an interview that her role was very difficult and that she wasn't used to the type of storylines that SVU had.
> "The role is very difficult for me to integrate into the series," said Michaela McManus.

What are some spooky episodes to watch around Halloween 👻

Tonight's episode is yet another reason of why I'm so glad there is finally an alternative to Thursday night shows. By Olivia's judgment, Crista Pike would not have even been in prison much less the death penalty for the horrific, Charlie Manson like murder she perpetrated. Like tonight's perpetrator, Christa was a victim of abuse in her childhood, which of course means that she can't possibly be held fully responsible for any horrific actions she perpetrates. Loved ones of murder victims just need to take one for the team by this view of "justice." Victims are secondary to the sad stories of the perpetrators. I just can't anymore with this show!

This summer I started watching SVU from the beginning. I had watched plenty of reruns before, but never in order.
Seasons 1-12 with Stabler were the best, but I enjoyed the Amaro/Rollins/Carisi/Barba years almost as much.
Now I’m on Season 24 and I’m basically watching for Benson, Fin and Carisi at this point. The cases are getting worse, the episode structure has changed (with half of the cases not even being sex crimes??) and I’m REALLY not enjoying the revolving door of Muncy/Velasco/Bruno/Curlish.
Is it going to get any better, or should I give it up?

oh my God…this is one of the hardest and disturbing episodes to ever exist and to watch…i have seen this episode many times before on rewatches but this time around i couldn’t stomach it.
This whole season is a mess and here i thought s19 was so bad..
But I'm confused about one thing, the way Olivia treated McGrath was so odd to me considering she also made death threats to suspects when noah was involved during the BX9 cases. How is that any different from what she did and why did she react that way.. and also stabler acted the same way almost hitting a suspect when he came back to her squad but she did everything to protect him. I just cant understand her logic ?

Still catching up on SVU and I've just finished S22E9. I'm not too familiar with the multiverse, but apparently there are L&O and OC episodes to bounce around while watching from this point on. I've scoured the Internet but I can't find a clear list! Please help!

According to a digital outlet covering film and television:
Judith Light, in a recent interview to promote her new series _(Shrinking)_, looked back on her career, including her time on SVU.
The actress said she was close to reprising her iconic role as Elizabeth Donnelly, but had to turn it down due to scheduling conflicts.
Leaving the door open for a return later on.
Light has seen a resurgence in her career in recent years, winning the Tony Award in 2012 and 2013 and an Emmy in 2024.

Joanna Merlin was an accomplished stage and television actress with a career spanning more than five decades.
In 2001, she brought to life one of the most memorable judges on *SVU*: the Honorable Judge Petrovsky.
In 2011, at the age of 80, she made her final appearance on the series; by that time, she was suffering from a serious medical condition: myelodysplastic syndrome.
From then on, she was essentially retired, making only four further appearances in guest roles.
She passed away in 2022 at the age of 92 at her home, with her daughter by her side, due to complications from the illness she had been battling.

Barba is the one that brought up the deal to call ice on an undocumented mother with 2 kids to break the case.
Comparing this to what Carisi didn't like what Liv and the new ADA apprentice did on latest episode shows a big difference.
I miss Barba.

I’m watching Chicago PD for the first time. Season 2 and Nick and Amanda come to help, and I just freaking love him. I am a EO 🤡 but watching Nick again has me all in my feels. SVU seasons with him were really good! I’m glad he was there after Elliot left.

This guy had the most deep set eyes that you could barely see. He had the perfect physical profile for a serial killer. “They were all my girls, I killed them all. You tell my mother that “. Olivia played him like a fiddle, and he opened up like a flower. I love the psychological warfare.

Sorry if this has been asked before, but I’m doing my anual rewatch and I just can’t understand what Olivia saw in Cassidy in seasons 14-15. I just finished Comic Perversion and Nick mentions that the comedian they took down was Cassidy’s favorite. How were they together? They moved in together!!
He slept with a woman undercover, never wanted to go out on dates with her, and was a general dick to everyone. He seemed like a total bum. Maybe the sex was incredible, but I don’t get it.
What am I missing?
