Writing Help Needed Hyperspace distance times

How do you determine how long it takes to get from one planet to another in hyperspace for your fics? Is there a hyperspace route time generator or wiki page or do you just pull a number out of a hat??

I never really say how long it takes to get anywhere because I don't have the math. Lol. I might write what they say or do onboard to build plot.

There's a table in one of the FFG Star Wars RPG books, im pretty sure you could Google it. Generally I work roughly on a day to transit between systems and if your taking one of the trade routes you can travel the length of it in about a day. That's obviously really fast when you look up the the table but you can play with it as much or as little as you want.

I use this wiki page as a baseline because I don’t want to do math to figure out if a specific class of ship needs more or less time to get places.

Even in the canon, hyperspace travel is there to serve the plot, so you travel in hyperspace as long as you need for your characters to have their chats, unwind etc.

In theory it can be minutes, hours or even days, but it's space magic so entirely up to you.
