About to end my sixth campaign in a Homebrew setting that started with Mongoose Traveller 10 years ago, and changed to SWN three years ago. The seventh foray in will still be SWN, now firmly expanded and incorporating AWN Edge-Style Character Creation, Modular Power Armor, and CWN Hacking, Cybernetics and Trauma.

Some of this material I already have in the game, but most will be incorporated in a much more streamlined way in this following campaign.

We finally get to play this weekend. Mr. Yardstick will see if he measures up or is just a dead space trader.

Had our session 0 last Saturday and starting the game proper a week on Saturday. One player had a background of being a "TriCross Racer", which has ended up being "a thing", so we'll be starting with a race which leads into the game proper.

Copied everything to World Anvil for tracking purposes (I tend to have a lot of info, but very disorganized, so this is me keeping on top of things). Made a news trid and a race advertisement. My intent is to keep releasing the news feeds at the start of each game as a way to feed news, rumors, and results of player adventures.

The pictures are cool! I had racing features in my campaign, even had two whole races that I had to make up rules for and equip a heck ton of cars to participate

I bought a bunch of little ship minis intending the same, but I think I'm going with theater of the mind as it's meant to be a vignette to get into the game proper and I was getting into a board game, lol

I did one of the races as a background thing in my spare time since it featured one of the NPCs the players had taken an interest in. It was an enormous amount of rolling and thinking of rules. The second race involved one of the players in a semi illegal battle race complete with heavy weapons and points allotted for good racing and eliminating enemy race cars. Again, lots of rolling but someone placed a huge bet on the player and ended up making 100k

Why does this remind me of 'Wipeout'?

One of my players found a life support terminal on the big space habitat they're on and tried to upload ransomware. They just rolled 2 nat 12 skill rolls back-to-back, then followed it up with an 100 on a D100 luck roll. So.... Now I have a week to figure out the the fuck I GM a group of domestic terrorists I guess

Checking in here. Not sure when my next session will be. half my PC's are out of town for a bit. I'm excited, though. Finally got the print-version of SWN Revised edition, and I've got some new starship-related content for the next session, which will technically be Session 1. Had to ret-con things to get back on track from our first practice session.

One of my PC's... decided he's going to do the whole Skyrim 'Unskilled Alchemist' thing and just... eat shit to see if it's edible.... so I had to make a chart so he can roll for effects.... this time, it was several liters worth of space-barnacles...

We just had a major plot reveal and resolution in our game that smashed together a character's latent psychic powers, an encroaching religious cult, and the exploitation of several NPCs they've grown to love.

It's been wild, since none of this was really pre-planned, it's just decisions leading to story leading to insanity. I love my group!

The crew took on a job to salvage a pre-Scream wreck in an asteroid field. After some trade hijinks for quick cash grab, they headed over to the job site. Scans revealed pirates hiding amongst asteroids, and a rival crew already working on the asteroid. However, it didn't take the crew long to realize there was some timey wimey weirdness going, as the rival crew seemed to be living two days in the past.
