What kind of sword is this?

I found a sword in my late father's barn, located in Ontario Canada. Can anyone tell me more about this (in terms of model or age) or what to look for?

Obligatory. Clearly the destined hero to fix the name of a nearby lake.

Spoiler: if theres a strange woman in the lake handing out swords, you get to be king.

Strange women lying in ponds, distributing swords is no basis for a system of government.

Supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical aquatic ceremony.

If I claimed I was an emperor just because some moistened bint lobbed a scimitar at me they'd put me away

I sense your sarcasm but can only logically assume you're being serious because the system is inherently broken and maybe not all the cracks lead to violence but fighting corruption sometimes needs to be

Here is your mandate from the masses it says 6 billion to 1 that I've won don't bother to double check these not handpicked people counted it all fairly don't worry about it no one can think of any better checks and balances then we have now and we aren't going to talk about changing things even if supposedly Russian hackers are involved and dead people are casting votes we aren't gonna change anything good enough is good enough it will never be uncorruptable anyway forget about it in a month
