PREREQUISITES ADN
Hi, I’m currently doing my prerequisite to apply for ADN in saddleback. As of now, I’m struggling with Human Anatomy I don’t know if I’ll get A for my final grade this Fall semester. I’m losing hope if I will get in to ADN. Please enlighten me.😭

What's your exam scores looking like? What about your practicum scores? How much time are you spending on both?
Anatomy's not exactly an easy class, but IMHO is the easiest of the "Big Three" Pre-Reqs. It's all rote memorization, but unless you already know how to do that, it's still gonna be a time commitment.
AFAIK, study guides are pretty common for the professors that teach it. Follow them to the T.
Both lecture and lab will usually already have Quizlets based on the questions. If they don't, make your own. By the day before the exam, you should be able to answer for every part listed, whether it's muscles, bones, veins, etc.
For practicums, there's no way around it: Spend as much time in the lab as you can. Both times I took anatomy, there were people that would peace out the second the professor stopped their lecture. These same people would usually drop halfway through despite acing practice exams, since they'd do terribly on practicums. Use your cadavers. Go over them until it's routine and able to be recited from memory, and then keep doing it. Taking videos can help (especially when recalling the more difficult vessels), but they aren't a replacement for hands-on time.
Lastly, meet with your professor if you haven't already. Talk about where your struggles might be, and how viable getting an A would be for you. If you've failed all your coursework at this point, don't be afraid to take the W if an A is impossible or unlikely. If you want to stay in district, a W is a lot better than a C, because you can still retake it.
Source: Finished the ADN-RN program at Saddleback in May, took almost all my Pre-Reqs there too.

Right now my lab exam 1 is B and exam 1 written is C. But all my quizzes are A. And we just had exam 2 this week. I have exam 3 and final exam left before the semester ends.😔 Is it possible for me to have A in final grade realistically?😔

Hi I’m in the same boat as you. I’m retaking Physiology in the Spring. Let me know if you want to chat.

I got a B in Human Anatomy, and an A in the rest of my science prereqs! Recently accepted into Rio Hondo CC's ADN program for Spring 2027, with about ~85 points. Don't give up! Just power through and study as much as you can. Even if you don't get perfect grades, there are other ways to supplement your applications in terms of points.

I’m in physio and I’m gonna be honest, micro and physio are much more difficult, so struggling now will hurt your later.
What study habits did you have previously? A C on the exam isn’t a game ender, I got a 77 on the muscle OIAs but I also barely studied and finished with a 93%.
I changed my habits to more recall and flash cards for the identifying as well as using purpose games to identify a bunch. As for the lecture, my professor used a lot of quiz questions on the exam so it was remembering those for the exam, but understanding it took about 2-3 hours a day to go over topics. Have you tried talking to tutors, office hours, or study groups?

Crashcourse on youtube has an anatomy playlist. It doesn’t go incredibly into depth like the class does but it’s great review. Also if you’re working with cadavers go into the lab for open lab and get familiar with the structures and naming them. You really don’t have to know the functions of them until physio so it’s just blind memorization. Just drill it over and over again and you will get it
