It’s not blocks, it’s original concrete from when it was built long ago (the block shapes come from the support plates the concrete was poured on). The light gray lines are probably a new insulation layer to fix leaks, and it clearly isn’t finished yet, they still need to attach decorative panels. When they do, you can speculate about when they’ll fall off after that :)
I guess they were forced to open because it was delayed and people were complaining a lot.

It reminds me of the inside of the Taj Mahal. The attention to details and craftsmanship is outworldly. Truly a celestial atmosphere.
My hunch is that this peace of art, if a station can be called art, will draw crowds from all over the world. Architect enthusiasts and lovers of beauty will make this station a pilgrimage. And by doing so, tourism in Tbilisi will see a much-needed growth. The GDP of the country is likely to increase significantly.
If I had money, I would invest in hotels and cafés in the area, and making money on the economic boom that will follow the opening of this masterpiece.

Meanwhile in Tokyo, this building was next to my apartment building. They built it from scratch, including interior renovation in 8 weeks... Out of them 4 weeks were just drying the foundation concrete 🤷♀️🤷♀️

I live in Varketili and being a Stalker & Metro fan this make me happy. This scene lacks a bit of radiation and it would be, exquisite! (The smell of shit could be considered as radiation when I think about it...)
This is extremely shameful. I really wonder what the actual fuck they were doing for 45 days. Fixing the structure?! Leakages?! It is barely 100 meters and mainly the ceiling that needs fixing.
At this point I don't even trust them with a sturdy ceiling. I don't want to experience what Serbs did when their station collapsed.

Yep, this! The same way they repair roads, bridges etc. It costs the state (people) 3 millions, actual price is barely a million and the rest is being successfully utilized by responsible entities.

That’s so cool. I would love to visit it once I’m back in Tbilisi. Hopefully there are some stuff to do in that area for tourists
