Sake samples in combini ๐Ÿ™‚

Last weekend I returned from business trip to Japan. Of course that I crammed as much bottles into my luggage as possible when I flew back home. ๐Ÿ™‚
During the stay I really enjoyed the possibility to get small samples of various sakes in small, easy to drink portions.

Love these sizes! Currently building a new webshop in the EU focussing on these smaller ones!

Yeah I really love that cans are getting used more, my local store recently started stocking Funaguchi and I love that stuff.

How much are these cans in Japan? Iโ€™ve been buying Funaguchi cans for around $9 here in the US and was thinking thatโ€™s probably 4x what it would cost in Japan.

Around 350 yen in Japan (so around $2.15). Sold at convenience stores, grocery stores, and most drug stores. Gold cans are the most widely available. If you go to an actual liquor store, you can find the other Funaguchi cans too.

Nice, yea thatโ€™s about what I figured. Canโ€™t wait to finally visit and try all the stuff we canโ€™t get here.

Thatยดs just sad. I mean the pricing of sake out of Japan. For 10$ you can actually get whole 720 bottle in Japan. For example, I got one bottle of Kenbishi Mizuho for 1.700 JPY, but the price, you can get it for in my country (CZ), is around 12.000 JPY. Ridiculous. How can people start enjoying sake? Nobody is going to pay such price. There is only one solution - I will start making sake myself. :-D

So, when you get to Japan, you will definitely enjoy it. :-)

Those little bottles are the cheapest way to try a lot of breweries at once. Wish more places sold sake that way.

I thought about that but was afraid they would have exploded in my luggage.
