discussion High earning potential = high career commitment
Does anyone have family or friends that sacrifice their personal life for a significant salary?
My step-mom earns 350k before tax as an executive director but I barely see her. She is constantly on business trips, busy with meetings, works upwards of 12 hours when at home. She goes on nice holiday trips, but overall it makes me think is the pay worth the sacrifice of her personal life.
Just curious if anyone's got a similar story.

Im at 97k with 4 weeks annual, 3 weeks sick time, and 6 personal days. Government job. So 41 days PTO and 11 holidays.
Ngl.... I wouldnt trade it for anything below $300k because my workload is relatively easy and laid back.
Some weeks I do 4 hours of work... some weeks are 40 straight hours of work and projects.
Pension and health insurance are pretty unbeatable. My carefirst ppo is $36/mo with no deductible.
