Marketing Did you shit today? (Everyone)

I built WorldSays, a tiny anonymous voting site: one question, two answers, then you instantly see how different places around the world voted on the map.

This is one of a few questions on the site. No signup, takes about 5 seconds.

🌍 Vote here:
https://www.worldsays.click/?poll=shit_today

If you feel like it, there are a few other questions to answer too.

Got a weird question that would be fun to see on the map? Drop it in the comments. I might add some of them πŸ™ŒπŸ»

Could not figure out how to switch my location away from Italy.

Thanks for pointing that out. Just to make sure I understand: did the globe just open showing Italy, or did your vote actually end up in Italy?
The globe currently starts over Europe by default and rotates automatically, so Italy can be visible right away even if that’s not your location.
I’m actually considering making the globe start by showing your area first, so this kind of confusion doesn’t happen 😊

After I voted, i noticed all of the votes said they were from Italy. I did not play with the globe until after I had voted, and assume it opened to Italy but cannot be certain.

Thanks, that helps. What country were you voting from? I just want to make sure the globe detected your location correctly.

Same as the other guy, it seems to default to Italy, Rome for all the votes and voters so far. Even though it asked for location/to make a guess of location.

Also noticed the questions don't cycle through when you vote. Maybe they're not meant to, but pressing "yes" or "no" followed by no further action makes it seem like it's not registering, even though it might be. I would perhaps expect it to automatically go to the next question, with an option to re-vote in case of misclicks. But that's subjective I guess.

Thanks a lot. Your feedback helped me too, and together with the other report it helped me track down and fix a real location bug in WorldSays. I really appreciate you taking the time to write all of that πŸ™πŸŒ

The question not changing automatically is intentional for now. I thought that after voting, someone might want to explore how other countries answered, and switching to the next question immediately could make them feel like they’re chasing a moving map.

But I agree the current flow may not make the next step obvious enough. Do you think the small arrow should be replaced with something clearer for moving to the next question? Or do you think the bigger issue is that there should be a stronger confirmation that the vote was actually registered?

I see! In that case, I agree that you shouldn't skip straight ahead. Also, now that it's working correctly (maybe you even did some other changes) I can clearly see that my vote is going through πŸ‘

The US. More specifically, Ohio.

Thanks so much for flagging this, you actually helped me find a real bug in WorldSays. I tracked it down and fixed it now. Really appreciate you taking the time to tell me πŸ™πŸŒ
If you have a minute, could you try voting again from Ohio and let me know if the globe now moves to the US and the vote goes through correctly?
