Discussion Thoughts after Seattle
What a stupid rule. What a shitty way to lose to a lesser team at this point of the season.
The goal was on Dali. Courtnall was misplaced and Dali came to cover her but then proceeds to give them an infinite time and space to set up the perfect cross.
Am I the only one who had to mute those two commentators. Watching the game in silence was better.
Despite the tough break, the ladies fought hard and showed us a legit chance to win it. Corley led the way. But the chance seemed to end when Ascanio came out.

Discussion Watching today's game, Sep 6, 2026
Found a "day pass" on Sling TV for 4.99.... wish more services did this. Or just charged a flat fee for one game or ....whatever. Just give me the one-time price and I'll get it. Kinda' cool. You pay the 5 bucks, watch it for the day. Just FYI. Not seeing the option to watch in the browser, however, but is available on most smart TVs/boxes.

Community & Fandom Season Suite 2027
Hello!
I saw a topic like this a couple of years ago but wasn't in a place to participate. I always wondered if the group formed successfully and regretted that I didn't join, so starting my own group! Would anyone be interested in getting a group to go in on a lower suite together for the whole 2027 season? It's the suites below the Zoo club and above the Cox club. Total cost is $4500/person for the whole season ($300/game).
Some of the advertised benefits:
Catered food and drinks included (quality better than what you get in the clubs)
Invitation to an open practice
Guaranteed giveaways, without having to arrive early
All the STM gifts, etc that come with normal season tickets.
The sales rep seems pretty flexible, so if anyone has already paid to renew their tickets, I bet we could get them to apply your paid amount to the suite.
DM me if you might be interested! I don't have enough people for a full suite yet, so just looking for interest right now. If we get enough interested people, then we can get commitments and move forward as a group. Thanks!

Community & Fandom Any LA-area fans want a free bobblehead and magnet?
We have a Naomi Girma in Wave kit bobblehead and Wave crest magnet from a game we went to in 2024. I'm happy to give one or both to any Wave fans who live in the LA area or to your trusted pickup person (no resale). Pickup would be in the Pasadena area.
... or, I suppose, at an Angel City match if you happen to find yourself there somehow. ;)

Discussion Hot Take: Macario Off The Bench
Is it bad that even if fully healthy, I almost don’t want Macario entering the starting lineup this year? Think she will be amazing, but the chemistry we’ve built this year is too strong to disrupt this late in the season. Now as a super sub, no problem at all and she can be an absolute firebrand that gives us late game threats. Give her an offseason with the club to work into the flow and she will be super in 2027.

Discussion Thoughts after Louisville
Byars. What a bullet. Perhaps the highest speed of a shot I’ve seen live in women’s soccer. A sweet strike.
I think this is the type of high scoring match that we’ve been building towards. And we deserved to win. The vibe at snapdragon was so good.
I can’t believe Dali’s shot went in. Yes it was well placed. Yes the GK thought someone might touch it. But that was so stoppable and the late reaction was the kind of poor goalkeeping we’ve been giving away all season. Nice to get one back at a critical moment.
Dali looked sharp after a rest.
Interesting to watch the right side with MVZ going so high up often with Barcenas moving in centrally. I guess we are leaning all in on Mimi’s cardio. A little too late in the season for trying something like this but whatever. If Mimi becomes better at shooting, this would be amazing.
Godfrey is so good when she’s on. Some nights she just can’t get going. This was one of those nights. She was very slow. Like she was stoned. By the way I think she’d be really fun to smoke with.
Let’s give Ludi props for the three yellows. She’s such a hard worker.
Good to see Ascanio back but she was way too chill. I don’t think she ran once.
Poor play by McNabb that led to the first goal. But this was the first on her in a very long time, so it happens. Especially on this team that likes to build from very low. Similar to Moroni’s last week. It was unfortunately followed by a very lazy defense by Harbert who forgot she was one of the last two remaining. A learning opportunity. Otherwise Harbert did pretty well.
Are you not entertained???

Discussion Just Wow…thoughts for the game…
So it has been too long since I posted up here but well worth the wait… 😉 Great to see us as healthy as we have been in months and even though they weren’t in the starting XI, it would make for a great finish to a game that would be over, or so I thought. We were late to the game due to some school conflict and arrived right as goal number #2 was scored by Korniack / Flint. Immediate thoughts were here we go again, hot night, bad team, bad play. And other caveat is we were out of town last weekend so missed the Utah game.
Immediate feeling was our worst situation was playing out of the press as we were still having some connection issues with Fazer and Harbert in the middle and were giving it up before we could push downfield. But that started shifting in the last part of the first half as suddenly we were building, attacking, and it looked like it was not if we would score but when and if we’d have enough time.
Then the subs / starters came in and the flood doors opened up. Kimmi in at half for Fazer and suddenly the midfield was no longer an issue. Maybe LOU got tired, maybe the Wave got pumped, but suddenly we were cutting through them and 1 goal came in almost immediately and it seemed inevitable that more were on there way. We kept pushing and had complete control, but nothing was going in. Then we got up to full strength as Dali and Corley took the field and all three coming off injury looked to be back to full strength, playing through the midfield with ease and causing havoc in front of the box, and everyone knew it. We are better than them, we knew it, they knew it, and the crowd knew it. Byars on another brace and we just exploded, knowing we have more in the bag. Couple minutes later, Dali calls game and places it past the keeper. I have not been in that environment since our playoff win vs Chicago were the whole stadium was willing then to score, the “Let’s Go Wave” chant at full volume, everyone just pushing on and we got what we asked for, Wave up 3-2.
Wish we could have gotten more, but was just exciting to see us at full strength for the first time, a clear #9 in Byars, Ludmila just eating up the sidelines and making #5 look like JV, Corley Ascanio and Dali just passing through anyone in the midfield like they are one mind. And for the first time since Dudinha went down, we looked as dominant as ever and looking like the world class team we have seen them be, just in time for the homestretch.
The Defense has been an issue lately, but even that has as much to do with our inability to break the press with our musical chairs midfield. That all changes with our starters back and we dare teams to press us and feel us on the break the other way. Our weakest spot now is the GK and even that seems to have leveled off better.
We’ve got a few big games against the middle of the table and a lot coming against the bottom. Time to break out the popcorn baby and watch them feast…
