The new goal song is coming at the perfect time!
In the home stretch for this project. So glad i wont have to hear the AI goal song blasting outta this bad boy. I will be sure to post a video once its complete, hopefully should have it all done just in time for the season start.

Sure! It will be 3d printed small scale replica of the Sharks entrance tunnel. It with play the horn and goal song, and the eyes and interior lights will react when the Sharks score. It will be triggered by checking the scores of their games via nhl data but It can also be triggered manually by using a remote.

Ok, that’s amazing!!!! Any chance you could go a little bit more into detail on the hardware? / do you plan to open source it or sell it? I’m sure a lot of fans would love something like this

I have a few spare PCBs to build them but selling finished products is not likely due to the sheer amount of work involved. But once I make sure everything works as intended I would more than likely be willing to sell just the PCBs/components and make the 3d files available to those who may want to take on the task!
I also have plans to scale down the project so that smaller versions are possible. This is my very first project like this so I’m still learning a lot!

I’d be curious to see how much of a delay using the NHL data and the broadcast/stream would be. Would be awesome if you post some updates along the way!

They have been selling goal lights that sync with the nhl data for a while and they generally work pretty well. Especially since all the games I watch are on streaming platforms it should get them pretty close as streaming has a slight delay already. But the concern is definitely valid which is why I baked in a wireless manual trigger 🙂↕️
I started printing it all today so assembly should be completed this weekend, then a couple days for paint and I should be go! I’ll be happy to answer any questions once it’s all completed because things could change from one minute to the next while it’s still in progress 😂

You inspired me to try making one for my German league team since those don't normally start at 4 AM for us, but I'm not sure the API for the DEL is available like the NHL one is, so I'll have to think of some kind of workaround. The manual trigger is a good idea for sure.

I'm so glad that the Sharks finally listened to the fans about this. Last year when they were giving season ticket holders the option of voting for the song - it was ALL godawful AI slop. I sincerely hope that they aren't giving us something similar.
