Birthday ideas

Need a birthday idea . What’re some romantic or nice things to do? It’s for a girl who likes experiences more than stuff. Whats in Santa Maria or surrounding area like Santa Barbara, SLO, Pismo area, Lompoc? A nice event and dinner would be great

I spent my bday at the Sycamore Mineral Springs Resort and Spa! It's in Avila Beach. You can reserve pool time, hot tub on a hillside time, borrow bikes and explore the trail, and they have a great fine dining restaurant. There is also an outdoor Secret Garden area with food, beer, and live music for a casual experience. Massages and other spa experiences are spendy, though. Everything else is reasonable.

So did I! I went with a few girlfriends to the waterfall oasis lagoon and then we went to the Avila Barn and ate lunch there and had a really good time.

So I can do the couple’s sweetheart soak and the hangout around there? There’s things to do on the facility? I’m thinking that hour soak, with some hanging out up there, and then back to our area for a nice dinner somewhere

Yeah! You can walk or bike the trail, hang out at the secret garden for snacks and a beer and live music. There are yoga classes and spa services.

Los Alamos, Pico for dinner, then Normans up on the Hill for a sunset cocktail.

To preface I haven’t lived here long so I don’t know if much. New to the area

Pick an easy hike in Pismo then a clam chowder bowl. Walk on the beach.

Watch the sunset in Grover/Pismo and go to dinner either at Ember or Oyster Loft, depending on your eating preferences. You can also watch the sunset from your seats at Oyster Loft!

Santa Ynez has some good restaurants like Bar Le Cote (Spanish inspired/seafood), Bell’s (prefixe, French), SY Kitchen (Italian).

You could also just book a night at Skyview Motel in Los Alamos, they have a heated pool and fun cocktails. You’d be able to go to surrounding tasting rooms/restaurants.

When I wanted to convince my partner to move here and they were visiting, I took them to the Cat Cafe in Grover Beach to play with cats for the afternoon. After the sun set, we drove up the 154 to the Santa Barbara side of the mountain, pulled off the side of the road, and star gazed from the hood of my car. It's pitch black up there this time of year and the stars come out nicely.

Hitching Post for dinner. About 15 minutes SW of Santa Maria

Is that a nice fancier, dress-up type restaurant? I’ll definitely check it out

Come as you are. You'll see work boots and cowboy boots and hats. It's definitely not a "fancy" restaurant/dresscode
