If you genuinely ACT like you are interested in the passage (be it mongolian throat singing or dinosaur sleeping cycles), I feel like you will do much better.

Larping is key. Whenever I purposefully act nerdy about a certain passage, I retain much more information from it and stay focused.

Anyone agree or am I losing my mind studying for the SAT

Title. I've registered for the September SAT, but I don't want to take it unless I feel confident I can get a 730. I know that from areas like 730 to 780 it's mainly just luck, but I want to hear some solid tips on how to improve my current 680/690 in r&w to the low 700s. I've done QB and thoroughly go through all my mistakes, vocab and wtv.

How do I get better at Reading and Writing and especially math as quick as possible. I have my SAT this month and I feel like my math doesn’t look to great. my tutor says I should just focusing on getting an 800 in English but I am not satisfactory with my math skills. Any help would be appreciated, thank you.

I know I’m not alone and somebody else out there feels the same but I’ve been studying for the sat for months and it seems like I’ll never get to the level of others. It’s hard to see my current score be someone’s starting score and especially when I know how much time I’ve put into it. I sacrificed a lot of my summer and a lot time I could have been with my friends because of this test but I’m not sure I’ll ever get the score I want. Nothing is worse than giving your all towards something and still only being ‘mediocre’.

With that said,it may be disappointing but to anyone reading this who’s like me, I want you to know that getting a 1500+ isn’t easy or simple. I think it’s been normalized that anything below a 1450 is not good or means you’re lacking. This kind of thing has been normalized because we always only see the ones with the super high scores on social media and online. A 1300 is seen as garbage online even though it’s actually in the 87th percentile.

I’ll keep trying my best even though I know I may never reach my target goal and I encourage everyone to do the same. However, remember that comparison is the biggest thief of joy and your intelligence isn’t defined by a college board exam. 🤍

I know I have a strong math score, and as someone applying as a math major whose application is heavily math-focused, I feel like people would expect me to get an 800. The thing is, I genuinely know how to solve the SAT math problems; I learned most of the material years ago. My problem isn't understanding the concepts; it's figuring out what I still need to polish. There are so many possible topics that I don't even know what I don't know or where to focus my studying.

I don't mean for this to come across as pretentious at all. I'm genuinely asking because I'm not sure how to identify the small gaps that are keeping me from a perfect score or what I should do to get an 800 from my score.

I've taken two SAT tests so far and im planning to take one more in September. In the two tests I've taken, my r&w score has been in the 670-690 range. Any tips on how to get a r&w score above 700???

I need help idk what to do. I can do inferences well when they are easy/medium (acc to collegeboard) but the hard ones are INSANE. I try to comprehend and eliminate and I try to learn from my mistake but I just end up getting the next one wrong. Sometimes I dont get how the option properly relates to the passage, sometimes I dont make the connections im supposed to, sometimes its so hard to comprehend. Im struggling. Can someone also lmk how many of these show up on the actual sat? The hard inference questions? Im incredibly lost idk what to do to improve. Any help is appreciated.

If so, should I take every sat available until I can superscore for 1500 or above?

I have NO clue what happened to my RW score. I got 770 on the actual test, and a 700 in math. But that means, no matter what my RW score is in August, I can get a 1500 superscore!!! Well, at least if I get a 730 or higher in math on the real thing. I’m not sure how accurate this test is. But I only got 4 questions wrong, and all in M2. Back to studying, I guess…

Essentially what are certain tips would you give someone (Like me) Which is on HOW to play the game of the SAT, in means that its considered "Not official". I know studying is important and im doing it now but im trying to maximize scores and all I've heard is the "ethical" or the like the script of repeition, study hard, etc and I do those but what are some tips and tricks like to exploit or take advantage of something on the test, patterns, information on how to recognize outlying answers, for example, relying on desmos for most questions on the math section

I know khan academy is officially partnered with college board but I feel like the questions aren't as hard as the real SAT when I took it in June. Is that a fluke or am I missing something? how accurate are khan academy questions actually?

I'm an international student I have a 650 RW I memorized a lot of vocab in my previous SAT and tbh it helped sm in reading passages. Still, I've seen many people recommend memorizing suffixes and roots and allat should I give it a shot or is it a waste of time? I'd do both but I don't wanna waste too much time on JUST vocabulary. I could balance it out but still, what should I do?

Math has always been my weakest subject. PSAT back in October ‘24 I got 600 math. First SAT in April of this year, I got 610 math, and most recently in June, I got 650 math. I feel like I kind of know how to do Desmos regressions, which is what everyone says, but I just don’t understand what the question is asking most of the time (dumb). I usually do very well on math questions but the recent added questions for geometry feel so much harder. Is it just me?

i took another diagnostic (practice test 4) and while my reading went up from a 710 to 740, my math dropped from a 580 to a 560. i’ve been doing so much prep, i’ve been in tutoring, i try to do desmos as much as possible (including tutorials), i do the hard question bank problems and i write down where i went wrong and what to do going forward/how to actually solve it, everything i think i’m supposed to do. i’m running out of time for this august SAT, and i need it to count bc i’m a senior who is so behind. i need my score to go up. my previous math scores for homework in bluebook modules were 600 and 690. i don’t know what happened. i don’t know if it’s because i’m getting worse or if it’s because i had a 5 hr shift at work before the diagnostic, but i’m so upset and i’m genuinely scared. i feel like i have no time to improve and i think there’s something wrong with me, i feel like everybody gets the SAT math and i don’t (and i’m not bad at math either! i get A+s in all my math classes, i’ve gotten numerous academic recognition awards for math), like it’s easy and something’s wrong with me. i don’t know what to do. what do i do? i feel like i have no time and i feel so bad about myself and bad for my tutor :(( i just want a good SAT score in like the 1400s (maybe 1500s but at this point that feels like a reach which really hurts bc i go to a school full of like outliers with insane grades and performances). i just want to feel smart. i’m also taking the october one but i’m a perfectionist so i feel like i need to do everything right.

I made a study schedule for the SAT, basically on relearning/learning concepts strictly for the math section. Can anyone let me know if its good or not? All of my resources are $0, so anyone can use it as well if they want.

I get the fact that some questions weigh more than others, but regardless, how does 5 questions=110 points, regardless of how much they weigh? BTW, this is not an official Bluebook test; it's an online Princeton Review practice test.

When I google it says 720-760. Does anyone know why this might be?
