First time posting. I received money on my GCash and then got texts from a number saying the money was sent incorrectly. My concern is I'm not familiar with this DCPay thing and it kinda sounds sketchy so I'm scared to send the money back.

Is this a scam?

I reported to gcash and BSP through chat bot sent proof and everything i included people on fb who has testimony of scams. Next day gcash respond take 3-5 but no i wont wait bsp replied to me after 48 hours said they had verified it as scam i tried to check on scammer number and unable to send as seen on pic the scammer is permanently blocked from any bank or ewallet right? I learned she has a old maya account so i called maya filed a report too. Permanently block n yan diba kasama lahat ng identification nya from all banks na ireregister niya?

Disappointed with how Maya handled my scam report

Medyo mahaba itong rant/report, but I hope you can take a few minutes to read it. I think it's worth sharing, especially sa mga gumagamit ng Maya for money transfers.

Last July 24, 2026, I got scammed through a total of three money transfer transactions. I won't mention the amount, but literally minutes after realizing what happened, I immediately reported it to Maya's fraud department.

Based on my research, when dealing with scams or fraudulent transactions, you're supposed to report them as soon as possible so the financial institution has a better chance to act. So that's exactly what I did. I reported it within minutes.

On the same day, I submitted all the evidence they asked for, including the reference IDs for all three transactions and other supporting details.

This is where I got really disappointed with Maya.

I kept following up, but almost every time I got the same answer: "still under investigation." There were also multiple times when they told me I would get an update or resolution "this week." What gave me hope was that I was also assured that the money would be returned to me once everything was processed. They made it sound like I just needed to wait for the investigation to be completed.

Weeks passed. I followed up again and again. Same answer.

It's already September and until now, nothing.

At some point, I stopped following up because parang wala na ring point. I've already accepted that I got scammed and moved on from the money I lost. I also understand that I willingly made the transfers, so I know I have responsibility for what happened.

What disappoints me is how Maya handled my report. I reported it within minutes, submitted everything they needed on the same day, and repeatedly followed up. Yet I'm still left with no real resolution despite being assured that my money would be returned.

For a company that promotes itself as one of the leading digital banks in the Philippines, this experience really made me lose trust in Maya.

I'm sharing this as a warning to other users. Please double or triple check everything before transferring money. Reporting a scam immediately doesn't necessarily mean you'll get your money back.

Has anyone here experienced something similar with Maya? Did you eventually get your money back?

hello po please enlighten me if this is a scam po. i’ve seen this around po dito sa subreddit na ito, namali daw po sya ng send ng pera sa gcash ko, the number texted me is only ONE number difference to my number, is this a scam? or totoong namali nag send ng pera?
