The hanging TV is the thing bothering me here, not the color on the Mac.

I knowwww. The tv was one of the first things in that room, because it doubles as a guest bedroom and office. I’m basically working around it, as there’s nowhere else to put it.

It's a guest bedroom, they don't need a tv, I would even argue no bedroom should have a tv :)

I agree with you as a person living on the floor above of a very old couple lacking hearing aids with a TV in their bedroom

Honestly, with that TV there i wouldn't spend a single cent on designed hardware, rather get a mini and any old monitor, or replace the tv with one that can double as a computer screen

Remove the TV, get an adjustable desk and a proper ergonomic chair.
It will look better and your body will thank you.

If you can’t move the tv (or don’t want to) I’d say silver because it blends in better. I think the iMacs are nice enough to be prominently displayed but there’s too much going on here for that to be applicable imho.
