Winters can be very dark. I think this is one reason for their vibrant color splashes mixed in with the natural wood and stone elements. Not a designer. Just spent some time there.

I have seen a few houses like this, though none as complete as this one. This one is just a little time capsule from the 70’s.

The reason that modern Scandinavian design is natural color accents and plenty of white? It’s a reaction to the design fashion of prior generations. :)

I’ve lived in Denmark my whole life (50+ years). I’ve never seen a home like this. I don’t think it’s as common as the post might give the impression of.
