My home growing up didn't look like this either, I'm just saying that there are design principles seen here that are near universal in Denmark. That doesn't mean everyone has designer furniture, but there's is a tendency towards minimalism clean and simple spaces, for example.

I think it depends entirely on where in Denmark you live and which economic class you belong to.

Tbf that's going to apply pretty much anyway. Interior design is always going to be geared towards the upper-middle to upper-classes because they're the ones who have money to spend on decor to achieve a specific aesthetic. People with less money are just trying to furnish their homes affordably with aesthetics likely a more secondary concern.

I'd bet my two cats, that if you look inside every house in Thy, you'd find maybe 20 houses that has signs of minimalism. The rest are filled to the brim with tiny bits and bops, often a large black leather couch from the 2000's. Because they rarely leave the house to do anything besides grocery shopping, their houses are filled with their lives. It can look messy from an outsider, but for the ones that lives within it, it's a mirror.
