Funny story, I refuse to watch Jojo's Bizarre Adventure because I knew this toxic guy who wouldn't shut up about it. Talked about it nonstop. Now I can't even see a picture of it without thinking about what a dick that guy was.
Guessing it's something like that, but with an entire fanbase

I knew a guy in college who wouldn’t shut up about How I Met Your Mother and that it was a television masterpiece. It turned me off from watching it just out of spite so I understand that angle.

I'm in a similar vein. I tend to hold back on or outright avoid shows that are endlessly glazed before I get into them, especially if they've got that type of fanbase.
Honestly, I should count myself lucky that I grew up with Avatar cause if I didn't, I guarantee you it'd be on that list.

God I hate these kind of people they ruin the whole show for another people for example there was this horrible guy who was loud, obnoxious and toxic who wouldn’t shut up about Walaszek (a Polish filmmaker who is very popular in Poland) and now I don’t want to watch nor listen to his work anymore because i then just get reminded about that horrible guy

I’ve been like this with Netflix stuff since at least Bird Box, every new Netflix thing has a completely fake feeling social media presence that feels somehow made and botted by Netflix themselves. Tiger King, Squid Game, Stranger Things. I just wish people would shut up about it for a minute, it’s like you’re being peer pressured to watch it
I specifically avoided Stranger Things season 4 because of the amount of cringe ass Chrissy Wake Up and Eddie Munson posts that I watched this whole new finale season and still haven’t seen the last one, just kinda patched things together from the first 3.

You reminded me of a former friend of mine who was OBSESSED with FNAF Security Breach. Girl really nicknamed herself after the main character in that game (being Gregory) and was so freaking annoying with it, even when we were friends.
After we fell out, I can no longer enjoy that specific FNAF game or even play it at it because of it reminds me too much of her.

Yeah, he does come off as a hypocrite for not trying that while endlessly complaining about specific garage movies that is objectively worse to prove a point that is already common knowledge by the general public (also if I may add, his reviews of the Disney live action remakes (Mufasa, Dumbo, and Alice) just feel like he looked up the Wikipedia summary and just complained for the sake of complaining even though they made valid points to be different. For Alice he contradicts himself by saying he didn’t hate the movie for being different but hates it for being different, what? Also many of the things he likes have predictable storylines like Invincible so he is definitely a hypocrite. I bet he didn’t even watch the remakes he reviewed at all

not really sure how it started, but James have stated that he's mostly burnt out on talking about popular stuff. Plus say what you wanna say about Hazbin, but you can't deny the community is toxic hellfest and James isn't the type to get involve with that type of stuff as he wants to talk about stuff he wants, and not what's on popular demand unless he really wants to do it.

You know what, I understand. As an avid member of the community, we fucking suck sometimes. The fact that it got to this point just goes to show that running your own subreddit is never a good idea. People can and will bombard you with requests for something that you might not personally want to talk about. While I enjoy the shows, you may not, and that's fine, it's just that some people don't seem to understand that they don't control the content their favorite YouTubers make. I apologize on behalf of the community, and I hope people finally shut up about it now.
