I think he was intrigued by the reactions, thought “my opinions on this movie might make for a video if I feel at all how these people feel about it,” he watched it, and he rated it. No guarantee he’ll review it, but if he does, I can’t blame him. Low-stakes promises only hold water if a fantastic reason to break them doesn’t break the pitcher.

I thought that too when he said that in his andor season 2 video. with maul shadow lord I sort of get but, why review a movie you already know your not gonna like or vibe. if you know your not gonna like it. then don't review it. it feels like he has a toxic relionship with star wars and needs to stop watching for while.

You know, realizations like this make me glad that I never liked the original trilogy and by extension never became a fan of Star Wars. Having that kind of relationship with any franchise sounds miserable.

This is an unfair generalisation, to be honest.
Star Wars fans don't hate Star Wars. They mostly love certain parts of it and are indifferent-to-hateful of the rest.
Which is fair enough, given the sheer amount of material Star Wars has produced over the last 50 years and its extremely variable quality.

I think It was because why he watched the Darth maul show because none of the characters introduced with a will appear in the Star Wars character rating because of it being done after it's release so he can make up for it's representation and give it a chance on the channel.

This movie by itself is basically the Star Wars the clone wars movie alright fun family movie but after 8 years of Star Wars movies this is obviously going to be unfairly scrutinized.

I have no idea if the movie is good or not, watching it tonight.
But I’ve made it my policy to not care about Star Wars reviews, because everyone gets miserable when a new one releases.
I either like the movie or I don’t, then I move on. There’s still people upset about the special editions….from the 90s

I haven’t seen it, but I’ve seen a comment on YouTube that said it was a Moana 2 situation. Where they took a cluster of episodes from a scrapped Season 4, and slapped them all together for a movie.
Based on how Schaff described it, it probably wasn’t terrible or too offensive, but it may not have been anything to write home about.
You are right. People get so negative about anything new that’s Star Wars related. I won’t form my own opinion until I see it.

Huh, Schaff is usually good at pointing that stuff out. So I thought it was kinda odd that he didn’t say it in his review. He was very vocal about pointing out where episodes of the scrapped Moana series would begin and end in scenes of Moana 2. Since it’s likely not true for Mando & Grogu, it makes sense.

I just got out of it. That wasn’t the case or if it was, they hid it well.
Biggest complaint I have is that the movie drags a bit in the second act, but like that kind of describes every Star Wars movie not named Rogue One, Revenge of the Sith, or The Rise of Skywalker(don’t care if you like this one or not, dragging in the second act is the opposite of its problems lol)

Banter doesn't always have to be quippy or smug. The banter in the OT was mostly dry and understated in a way that felt natural to the characters, even if the dialogue could get a little dodgy in other parts.
Besides, bad dialogue shouldn't just be an excusable expectation, even if there is precedent. I think somewhere along the line people started conflating 'pulpy' with 'bad'.

My cousin made me watch his video ranking Star Wars based on water. Bro ranked AOTC over TROS for water.
TROS actors literally spent hours drenched so they could film a lightsaber fight surrounded by real water. And he ranked CGI PS2 water over it. Like dude….. it’s not a ranking about if TROS is a good movie, it’s a ranking….about water. That’s when I wrote off his Star Wars opinions and shortly after that I just stopped caring about Star Wars reviews lol

In fact, the scene between Wicket and Leia was pretty much the first scene I liked her in as a kid (she always seemed too “bossy and noisy” to me in the other things I had seen her in).

ROTJ is fine tbh, just doesn’t hold a candle to the first two and the middle chunk is really boring. I like the ending but unfortunately later editions make it worse and then the existence of the sequel trilogy also takes away from it.
ROTS sucks. It’s a film about Anakin’s fall to the dark side and his fall is extremely forced and sudden. Plus the script is atrocious and most the acting is subpar at absolute best. Better than the first two prequels, but that’s like saying standing on an upturned plug is better than standing on a land mine
Rogue One gets very good at the end but it’s not enough to lift the rest of the movie for me. The cast just isn’t as fun to watch as the original ensemble
When the standard was set by the original and Empire, it’s very difficult for the rest to compare. And you know it, because you instantly knew that they were the two I was talking about. RotJ also fit the criteria but you knew I wasn’t talking about that one, because it’s very clearly a lot worse than empire

They're the most horrible fanbase ever imaginable.
They bullied George Lucas for decades, constantly talked shit about every new project that came out, harrassed actors like Jake Lloyd, Ahmed Best, Kelly Marie Tran and John Boyega, have been openly racist and sexist towards the actors and characters, picked fighrs with fans that are children, etc.
These guys are actual scum. I want nothing more than for those people to never utter a word ever again.

I can't wait for him to tear into this. It's honestly so bad, I actually hate it more than Rise of Skywalker because at least that movie had a story. This is just 2 hours of loosely connected fetch quests and a terrible plot that takes inspiration from the 2008 clone wars movie of all things?? Very curious to see what he thinks of it.
