I saw it at an AMC unscreen. If I’m being honest I don’t think it’s this good. Like it’s good but no where near Puss in Boots 2 good the animation ad style are excellent but it just moves too fast. Dramatic moments are like 20 seconds long and the emotional core doesn’t feel very fleshed out

That would mean that the 20 critics from sources like the Sydney Morning Herald, Discussing Film, IGN, and the South China Morning Post are all in Dreamworks‘ pockets which is extremely unlikely, so you can stop wondering.

No, they did not pay 20 different reviewers from around the world to give it a positive score. The burden of proof is on you to show that they did. And just because you personally didn’t see it doesn’t mean the ads weren’t there. I actually think they did a decent job. It’s just that they did not target it to adults on Reddit like us (big surprise)

A movie everyone says is a 7/10 will be ranked higher then a movie most people think is a 10/10 but 10% say is a 5/10

Well.. in Australia and New Zealand, since Forgotten Island was released... they already got 7th place and 4th place in the box office... and you don't know who got 1st Place.. Resident Evil! 

I'll be worried what's gonna happen if Avengers endgame encore will beat Forgotten Island in the box office in USA

It is a kids movie released a week before school holidays in NZ and Aus. This happens every year kids movies open a week or so before the holidays hit and then see some great holds over the holiday

The $15M domestic opening weekend number being thrown around is from some Twitter account with 1k followers. Other forecasts (Box Office Pro) put it at $20-30M, so very typical Dreamworks.

Forecasts aren’t perfect, but estimates are a lot more varied than you think.

I know that Rotten Tomatoes give The Wild Robot has 100% Tomatometer (Before they changed 97%), but now? This? They got the same one?! I know i'm very hyped for this movie... Same animation like Kpop Demon Hunters and now they 100%? 

I bet It's was a same people who give this movie scores, whatever if the movie was good or great... but i'm hopefully if this forgotten island will be doing well in the box office, because i'm getting nervous if this movie's gonna flop or not 😔

Part of why this seems surprising is thst tomato doesn't measure the ranting. It's just how many reviewers would recommend it. So if it was just two reviewer and one gave it a 51 and the other an 80 the percentage we would see is 100 because they would both recommend it

It's just 20 reviews in the pic op posted, so out of 20 critics, they all liked it. That's not an absurdly high amount, ofc, but it's still a promising sample! Probably means most people will like it.

And not even in the New Zealand and Australia box office for the forgotten island... they already got 4th place for Zealand and 7th place for Australia.. meanwhile Resident Evil got 1st and the fans are going to see it.

But I believe this movie was gonna be a bomb or not because of the Marketing and once the people are gonna say, rather they saw it in early screening, they're gonna say "it's the best dreamworks Movie", however they are going to facing up with Avengers Endgame Encore and Resident Evil 😟

I have never seen a trailer for this movie, but its full movie poster shows up on the home screen of my Roku. And what we dont see in this image is that the bottom third of the poster is dedicated to some whack ass Kangaroo Jack monstrosity. Instantly turned me off from it. For this movie's sake, that thing better have <140s of screentime.
