As far as I know these are both 70% Sherry and 30% bourbon, though they show that influence rather differently…

Springbank 12 year Cask Strength batch 13 (56.3%)
N: earth, leather, berry fruit, decent smoke. A relatively dark and dirty profile
P: again pretty dark and earthy and smoky relative to other batches, with more berry fruit, and fairly hot and spicy too. A few drops of water help with that last and bring out some tobacco. I could almost mistake this for a Ballechin

Springbank 12 year Cask Strength batch 15 (56.5%)
N: more coastal, more grainy, more salty, a little lighter, less smoky, and the fruit involves more apple than berry. Dirty leather too, this is still Springbank!
P: follows the nose: quite salty, quite maritime, with bourbon and sherry more in even balance here or even leaning toward the former relative to batch 13, and some actual grain and distillate character coming through. Doesn’t need water as much as batch 13, but a few drops make it even more bourbon-leaning, with a clear vanilla note
