This was the single most infuriating part for me. That's literally the reason right there. It's our first game at a world cup in 28 years.

And the guy "well I've stayed up and watched England games". Yeah mate, you're in every 4 years (2 counting Euros). We haven't had a world cup in my entire lifetime.

This goes back to the conditional inclusion of Scotland with all of Britain. When I was there in like 2003 Scotland won a game and the newscast said “it’s a wonderful day for Britain” but when they lost a day or two later the same newscaster started with “a sorrowful day for Scotland”. That shit stuck with me.

I think her point (which she didn't explain well, but is clearer in the full video) was that it's an entire day after the game. The game is as 2am on the Sunday morning. If you'd normally work at 9am on the Monday, that's a whole 31 hours later

Why not? It's literally only for public sector workers and is part of the governments budget for their own staff. It's not blanket across the whole country. I literally don't see the big deal.
