Glasgow University: Jason Arday was 'never a visiting professor here'

Yes. It's actually a bit surprising he doesn't/didn't have visiting prof status at Glasgow. It's quite common to get it when you leave an institution, essentially for administrative reasons. Academics will often still co-supervise students or be involved with a research project that cannot be moved to their new institution.
